1,000+ Hours Later, This Printer Still Surprises Me
My experience with the FLASHFORGE Adventurer 5M The Adventurer 5M has been an absolute workhorse. It puts out consistent, reliable prints day after day with almost no downtime. I waited until I had real hours on this machine before reviewing it, because I didn’t want my opinion influenced by the “new printer glow.” I now have well over 1,000 print hours on it, and my impression hasn’t changed: right out of the box, it performs extremely well. I started 3D printing on an Ender 3, which taught me patience and troubleshooting, but not much about enjoyable printing. The 5M is what kept me in the hobby. I print a lot of functional parts and accessories across different hobbies, and I want durability, accuracy, and repeatable results. This printer delivers exactly that. I primarily run Sunlu filament on it, which is very budget-friendly, and the print quality I get from this combination is shockingly good. I recently purchased a Bambu Lab P1S expecting noticeable gains in speed and print refinement, and to my surprise, the difference is almost unnoticeable in everyday use. The 5M hangs right with it while costing roughly half as much. - Pros - Highest print quality I’ve seen at this price - UI is intuitive and simple - Works seamlessly with Orca Slicer - Genuinely fast, nearly matching my Bambu P1S - Replacement parts are easy to get on Amazon - Minimal tuning required, just run Orca’s built-in calibrations and go - Cons - Louder than the P1S - No enclosure This printer has earned a permanent spot on my bench. If Flashforge keeps building machines like this, I’d be more than happy to test whatever they’re working on next. TL:DR Over 1,000 hours of use, rock-solid reliability, top-tier print quality, and speed that hangs with printers twice its price. The Adventurer 5M is one of the best-value machines in consumer 3D printing.

Excellent printer, high quality and value!!!
I was so excited to try 3d printing with me and my son, and daughter. I was looking for something to inspire some ingenuity, creativity, and problem solving, and with that a 3d printer sounded like a great project/hobby, boy was I right! Kids and wife all LOVE IT! I initially was looking for a printer that had great quality prints, and a short learning curve since we haven’t tried this before… this printer did not disappoint!!! It is easy to use and setup out of the box. The instructions are a little sparse but a couple YouTube videos and you will be well on your way. This was self leveling and didn’t require much effort to get going. Simple enough that with some guidance my pre-teen helped with the whole thing. I was impressed by the short learning curve of the software and ability to start printing right away. It prints beautifully and is much quieter and quicker than I expected. The features of this compared to many other great printers out there but at a huge value! If you are thinking of 3d printing look no further and buy this one, you will not be disappointed!

Worst brand ever - Avoid if you value your money/time
UPDATE: 2 Months later 2 months in and this is the worst printer I have owned. While the hardware itself is "fine" and works, the software/firmware have been a nightmare. The original software options barely functioned for remote monitoring and in the last couple of weeks they released Orca-FlashForge and FlashMaker. Problem with BOTH software is they were basically release as beta software and the remote functionality is broken. I spent 2 weeks with tech support and they have basically been useless. I've gotten better support from Comcast which says a lot. I also printed the official Flahsforge enclosure and bought acrylic panels for 50 bucks. Bought the camera for 25. Both parts being officially from Flashforge you would think they can work together but the camera cable was too short. Their supports response was it is indeed to short and I should source my own extension cable... My experience has been poor and I would never suggest this brand to anyone else. Avoid like the plague and spend you money elsewhere. Original: Wanted to wait a month before writing a review so I could fully use it and test. To those who don't want to read a novel. Its a good printer with LOTS of potential but as with most things you shouldn't buy on how good it "could" be. Out of the box the unit setup was quick and self explanatory. I last printer i purchased was the Creality K1 which had its own set of defects (which they fixed) so I was prepared for a hassle. Turns out everything was simple and I was printing within 30min. The issue begun happening after a few hours of printing. What everyone says about the included bed is true, its crap and you should get a replacement. I contacted Flashforge and they sent me their PEI bed right away when I mentioned the issue so anyone who purchases should be the same. With the bed issue resolved I can reliably get good quality prints. I use PLA and PETG with no issues and quality is equal to my K1 and just as fast. Any issues from are slicer or user error. Now for my real gripes starting with the software. The 5M uses Klipper which is awesome but its locked down and unless you super savvy there is no way to easily unlock its full potential. They have github page for the klipper but its useless for the average person. Next is the FlashPrint software, Its ok but very limited. Flashforge themselves suggests Orca slicer which is indeed great but then you cannot wirelessly sent prints and have to use a thumb drive. I tried using FlashCloud and Polar3d to remote monitor the printer and that also feels lacking in control and reliability. Creality Cloud despite all the spam is significantly better for remote management and control. I also purchased the Adventurer 5m camera direct from FlashForge. It took over a month to arrive and their communication TERRIBLE but I did end up getting it. While capturing time lapses is great, using it with FlashCloud or Polar 3D is terrible and again, remote management sucks. Lastly lets talk these hotends. Quick swap is great but 30 bucks per hotend is terrible. Luckily this is my secondary printer and I don't print abrasive materials but if you go through hotends regularly your wallet is going to cry. There is a lot of potential and promised updates. They CLAIM there will be full klipper support, OEM led lights, enclosure kits and more but they are radio silent as to when. I got time to wait and the ability to tinker on my own but if this is your first printer or you want something feature rich with no bugs, look elsewhere. My K1 with upgraded hotend/extruder has been reliable and I would highly recommend that over this (when its on sale)

Reliable, Easy to Use, and Prints Like a Pro
This 3D printer exceeded my expectations right out of the box. Setup was fast and painless, and within minutes I was printing clean, accurate parts with zero issues. The print quality is consistently excellent, and it handles both small detailed models and larger functional parts without a problem. The build quality feels solid, the UI is intuitive, and it’s quiet enough to run in a home office. It’s perfect for beginners and experienced makers alike. If you’re on the fence about getting the Adventurer 5M, do it. It’s a workhorse that just gets the job done.

Should have bought this first
Got this after I returned a Creality printer I could never get to work. This thing was up and printing in half an hour. It’s easy to use with Orca and it seems very accurate. It was definitely worth the price and the auto bed leveling feature is a time saver. The folks that designed this did a great job and printing out the enclosure and buying the factory parts is definitely worth the effort. The only issue I would have with it is the preprogrammed speed setting is 600 mm/s, which i found to be too fast for most of my initial prints with PLA. Consider dropping the speed on your initial prints and you will probably be more impressed with the results.

Treat it as a "lower" speed machine, then everything works great.
I started 3d printing about 8 years ago. I have owned a few old-fashioned i3 printers and have been constantly upgrading them till the recent rise of the bambulab-like high-speed machines. I feel it is time to jump boat and give it a try, since a custom built voron will cost way more than the commercially available ones from established brands. I got this machine at a discounted price. On paper it has almost all the fancy features one would actually use, like core xy, high-speed, vibration compensation, fast release nozzle, magnetic PEI build plate ... I was pretty happy about the purchase. The printer arrived 2 days ago. The installation was easy. I have been testing intensively since then. And here is my initial impression: 1. The print quality is good...when everything works fine. 2. It can go really fast but the fail rate is pretty high, especially on tall prints with small bases. Even with their sample filament, sample file and their own glue applied, the prints frequently detach from the PEI build plate during printing and cause disasters. And yes, I did level the build plate and perform vibration compensation. Situation gets better at half of the recommended speed. I am gonna try some 3rd party build plate and see whether it helps. 3. Either the remote control program flashprint5 or the printer's firmware has bugs. After one task is finished or terminated halfway, the printer has a high chance of losing its position. When you start a new task, the extruder will go out of range and hit the frame on the right. You will see the out of range error on screen and hear dying sound of the poor timing belt. The program will ask you to home the extruder but don't allow you to by saying system busy doing previous task. BTW, i am already on the latest firmware. 4. Again about the software, unlike klipper, the user interface is only good for multimachine management, it is not very informative or even responsive. The attached manual is also kinda over simplified. I consider myself pretty experienced, but it still took me quite a while to figure out the UI. And yes, I can read both languages on the manual. In summary, the hardware has the potential to compete with best printers in the league, but there are quite a few "solvable" bugs. I am not going to return the machine, the build itself worth the price I paid. I am expecting an OTA maybe? To amuse fellow (potential) buyers, I am attaching a few of my good/died prints. Good luck printing.

Works Great!
Bought for my husband who has zero experience with 3D printers. He made a few items to practice. The he made this “dragon egg” that screws together. The filament it came with ran out halfway so we fed in blue. Turned out super cool looking! Took this machine 4 hours to make this. The quality is great! We’re really happy with this super cool printer!

Flashforge Adventurer 5M Printer - One Hell of a Printer
This review is for the Flashforge Adventurer 5M I am coming from the Ender 3 v1, that I built from a kit 5 years ago. And holy crap has printing gotten easy and fast. I spent hours building, upgrading and attempting to get print settings and first layers right on that printer. Here? I took it out of the box... followed the step by step guide, removing 4 screws and pressing a few buttons and allowing it to calibrate, installing the filament holder on the back and filament, taking about 15 minutes total. And it prints flawlessly so far. I am just amazed that a 300 dollar printer has user friendliness of this caliber. The prints have come out great - the dragon took 7 hours!! Thats insane. The same print on my Ender 3 would of taken 24 hours and have a great chance of failure - around 30% failure rate. Where this printer just said whatever and printed it. The only gripe so far in 24 hours is that the touch screen is a bit finicky and you might have to tap several times to get it to register or it might register multiple taps instead. And I had to type in my WiFi a second time when I woke up this morning even though I connected it the night before. I'll probably come update this review in a week and month respectively... but... For 300 dollars (400 + 100 dollar coupon in checkout) , this cant be beat. This is on another level. Also you can buy all the pieces off the flashforge website to upgrade the 5M into the 5M Pro. They just released a DIY kit for an enclosure, with printed parts. And you can just buy the camera for 25 bucks on the site. AND one of the biggest gripes I heard from other people in reviews (although I dont particularly care)... they have released Klipper for the printer, so you can remove their OS and use Klipper if you want.
