John Petrucci: Rock Discipline

Being a guitarist between beginner and intermediate I thought I would give the book a go and seeing as I think Petrucci is awesome thought why not the 1st warm up exercise is kicking my a** it’s great but would not recommend for an absolute beginner some knowledge of guitar is essential looking forward to moving on though.

Old but Gold book! especially if you want to refine your technique and get some practise!

The book itself is a great book - my 16 year old son - just disappointed that it didn't come with a CD as advertised and when I contacted the supplier they didn't bother to respond to me.

OK. I studied classical guitar for years, but started out trying my hand at playing electric guitar. At this stage of my life, I want to crank up some volume, blast some power chords, and play some metal. This group of warm up exercises and other exercises to improve coordination between both hands are humbling. Some may pick up on the patterns and crank up the metronome to fast speeds and progress quickly. Others may have to stay at low speeds to maintain accuracy, but no matter whether a guitarist can play these riffs at Petrucci speeds or at much slower speeds, they will help with accuracy in fingering, picking, as well as helping with hand flexibility.

Tolles Buch von Petrucci, was in Deutschland jahrelang sehr schwer bis gar nicht zu bekommen war. Inhaltlich dreht sich hier alles um Übungstechniken um schneller und genauer zu spielen sowie die Koordination beider Hände. Super um mal eben schnell etwas nachzuschlagen und sich in kurzer Zeit durch Eigenleistung (beständiges Training) wirklich zu verbessern.

È un libro di John Petrucci, secondo me il miglior chitarrista moderno al mondo, che suona nella band migliore del Progressive Metal: i Dream Theater. Poco da dire. Per quanto riguarda il prodotto, l'ho pagato usato e infatti la copertina si vede che ha molti anni di vita. Ottimo libro per chi vuole imparare, per i fan dei DT e di Petrucci, e anche per collezionisti, perché no?
