Works well for long distance cycling
I've been getting back into long distance cycling and wanted to fine tune my salt and calorie intake on long rides. I'm in SoCal so during the summer it's usually 90+ degrees. I usually use Nuun for added sodium and will always drink 22oz of water per hour but I have trouble keeping up with my calories. Regular foods are often hard to handle, carry and digest. This year I wanted to try something different, so I gave GU Energy Roctane Ultra Endurance Energy Drink Mix a try. I just did 60 mile ride with this and it went pretty well. I had a caffeinated flavor and it was a good amount, but maybe I shouldn't have started with a large cup of coffee before the ride. I'm a little sensitive to caffeine now that I've stopped drinking large energy drinks. The taste was fine. I don't know why people complain of the taste, it's on par with the other supplements. It wasn't too sweet either. The calories went down fine and I had no gas or stomach issues. This was a big plus since I'm able to ingest more calories on long rides. Sometimes I don't feel like eating, but drinking this stuff is easy enough. I felt great on the ride and the caffeine was felt for sure. It would have been perfect if not for the cup of coffee I started out with. I never felt weird, I just felt really alert and was not able to take a nap after my ride. Next time I'll skip the fourth drink on the ride. So yeah it's pricey but for long rides it works great.

No belly bomb for this sensitive tummy & not sugary
I have been working out as an endurance athlete since I was 12 (30 years). When I go hard, esp. early morning, I can't really eat breakfast (not a morning person), which has been the bane of my training. This stuff is amazing for helping that issue. Not super sweet, like Gatorade or Powerade, so you won't want to guzzle, but the taste is just fine. Easy to mix, and alternate sipping this with water. No cramps, no belly bomb, helps my power and endurance (I think); has enough calories to fill the hole for sprint triathlons in the morning when coupled with a Bonk Bar (also easy on tummy). On par price-wise with a lot of other supplements, so can't complain much there. Those used to the "sweet stuff" might complain, but it's known in athletic circles that sugar increases thirst, so that stuff really should only be used post-WO/in an emergency

A Big Gun for Endurance Activities
I rarely note a big difference in how I feel from an energy drink, but Roctane fueled me through a miserable, hot, windy, high altitude 100+ mile gravel grinder and some strenuous, long hikes. I try to go light on energy drinks because it's sugar in one form or another and I am caffein sensitive, but this stuff gets the jobs done. I wouldn't recommend it for routine exercise. This is a big gun. Handle with care. This flavor is the only one I find palatable. The tea flavored ones taste like stagnant water to me.

Great taste, some flavors have caffeine
Great taste, be careful some flavors have caffeine, and some don't, the pictures and description might be incorrect of what is actually printed on the bottle.

Tastes good with the carbs needed for the price
The value at this larger size makes it a good option to choose from for a sports drink. It's definitely not as sweet as something like Gatorade Endurance but something as sweet as that during a long bike ride causes me a little stomach discomfort on my longer bike rides, and also it's mostly sugar where as this actually has the carbs needed for a long bike ride.

Great taste, great performance for mountaineering
I love this drink. I had given up on energy drinks because I didn't enjoy drinking any of them, and I got my energy from foods. I picked up sample packets of three of the flavors of GU Roctane drink mixes (not grape), and surprisingly I enjoyed all three. Lemon Berry is my favorite. I use this for mountaineering, ski touring and scrambling. It is easy to ingest on the fly (just drink it), it tastes great, and it gives me energy for endurance activities. Depending on how long I'm climbing, this is sometimes my only intake on the ascent. I feel great using it, and I'm pleased with my performance. What else is there?

My go-to drink mix
Roctane adds some nutritional value to my water bottles, keeping me going without having to worry about gels, blocks, or other things. The formula also helps keep your mouth and throat from drying out, much better than water alone. I like the flavors that include a little caffeine.

Keeps me going on long Mountain Bike rides
Flavor is OK, not great, but it keeps me going on long Mountain Bike rides. Mix of carbohydrates and electrolytes is the best I've found.
