STRICTLY BEDS&BUNKS Somerset Pine Bed Frame, 4ft 6 Double

Our kids broke our old bed using it like a trampoline so we wanted something strong and we'll made it totally fits the bill very strong and well made and it was stupidly easy to build the parts are colour coded to help the build it says two person build but I did it on my own in just under an hour!! The bed was delivered in the same week i ordered it the delivery guy was lovely and it came with hardly any packaging ..it's also British grown wood and a British company which I think is important and it was cheap and it's got a nice height to it when built

The quality of the bed is good but, I thought the fixings weren't as good or as strong as I expected for a heavy duty bed. The Headboard was nice and solid as was the frame. The lathes were nice and wide. The middle supports were okay but, the fixing with screws were very poor. These broke off when I tried to move the bed into position on a carpet (you'll need 2 people to lift the bed entirely to move it a small amount). The instructions were pretty good but, a video instruction would have been a better addition on Youtube or Vimeo. I liked the countersunk areas for screws on the lathes. The catch piece for the bolts on the legs etc were a right pain. Wood splinters inside and the slightest misalignment made for frustration at getting the screw bolts to catch. Overall, this bed is fairly good quality and value for money. The customer care and feedback request is admirable (lets hope critique is worked on). I give this product a 4 star and would recommend it but bare in mind my nit picky notes.

Bought this bed as was struggling with my old bed as it was past its best & me having bad arthritis. Wanted something strong & reliable. I orderd it & it arrived within 6 days which considering I live in the north east of Scotland I was pleased with. The company gave me great details about my delivery. The bed arrived in 2 boxes & as soon as the box opened you could smell the wood the instructions were clear my husband built it on his own in a couple of hours (with a couple of breaks). The bed is so strong great height & the extra strengthening features makes me feel very secure with my medical problems. The wood can be waxed varnished or painted to your own preference. You can buy cheaper but you won't match the quality of this 1 saying that this bed is not expensive it is certainly a great British made bed. I have shown all my friends who think it's brilliant & they can't believe the price would recommend to everyone

the middle bed legs are too long comparing to the ones at the head and feet making the bed wobbly, other than that the quality of wood seems okay for the price.

It was easy to assemble. Solid slats. To make it solid as whole, additional legs to the side of the bed where two half joins will be better...I created and added these for my bed and I still use this bed 4-5years later.

Great bed. Very heavy box- would suggest 2 people to carry it upstairs. Easy to assemble the outward frame. Only tricky bit was the support legs which didn’t have holes, screwing nails into solid wood took a bit of time. Comes with iron key and spare nails. Looks good, feels sturdy and great for the money

Arrived speedily, went together easily after a light wax. We adjusted the design slightly - there is a middle leg that goes under the bed which we replaced with an extra brace as this meant we could fit a storage box underneath. We also put in a few extra holding screws here and there including on the side legs and connecting to our brace. Good quality product at an excellent price-all the wood was straight and nicely finished. The design is simple but proved acceptable to that most difficult of customers to please- a teenager who didn't want anything 'old fashioned' or fussy.

Love the bed. Well built/solid as sold - only problem was two parts where not the allocated ones for the bed, but fortunately the same size. There was some additional drilling of holes needed for some parts. But if you are ok at DIY it is not a problem. Best if two people put it together! Overall good buy. Delivery was excellent, emailed with day of delivery for my area and telephoned that day to confirm time.
