full review : ( important for LINUX users ) very nice product ,as expected from the rating given by user ( if you are facing hardware error ,read my first time experience in the last section of review ) im using it continuously 24/7 with a crucial ssd , ssd heats up a little bit but their is space given which allows heat to escape speed test - 1. read - 453 mbps 2. write - 436 mbps i was about to buy another version of this encloser but thank god some posted a review about that compatibility of encloser with linux users NOTE - Linux will not detect encloser if it doesn't support UASP ,and this one support it im using this enclosers with raspberry pi with dietpi os running 24/7 from past 20 days, no problem , i see massive drop when transferring files over wieless network ,but thats not encloser or ssd mistake pros - 1.lightweight 2.good quality usb and body 3.airvent which allows heat to escape 4.perfect placement of ssd ,no chance of movement 5.support UASP ( otherwise Linux system will not detect it ) cons 1.after ssd placement,cover doest fit fully ,their is 1-2 mm difference ( not a big deal ) 2.need extra push to place ssd until you hear click sound ,if harddisk not pushed ,then it will show hardware error final conclusion : nice product,and if you are Linux user then dont think ,just purchase it working as expected , continuously 24/7 from last 20 days , encloser doest heat up ,ssd does which is normal behaviour overall im full satisfaction thanks for reading my review i hope i included all details first time experience : below what i faced ,but thats wll because ssd was not inserted fully which require force ,but because you might broke something you will fear pushing it hard, just for anyone also might experience that, thats why im not removing it i purchased crucial ssd and this enclosure, i was too excited but i put ssd in encloser and connected it with usb 3 , and went to disk management , dialogue popup to choose from mbr and gpt both failed with fatal device error now i was so confused that , which one is not working i tookout my wd green ssd which was installed in laptop , and put it in enclosure ,it showed same error, and to check ssd ,i booted up my laptop woth crucial ssd ,it showed,i installed windows to check it, after installing ,i checked with crystal disc info, it shows 100% health to further check , i installed wd hdd 500gb ,it shows same error thabks to amazon , theu instantly reordered the same thing,i hope next one will be good thanks amazon edit - i cancelled replacement if you are facing same problem as mine ,then ssd is not inserted fully,jist pushed hard a lit bit untill you feel some click , you will automatically know important step - if it still not works ,then dont remove enclosers ,just restart your pc ,it might take time to boot ,but wait and dont remove encloser thanks i hope it will help someone

It's a perfect case for your laptop hdd and ssd's because it looks nice , great build you also get rubbers in both sides and a small foam so that your hdd/ssd is secure and have less chance of breaking . Cheap cases don't give protection like this , cabel's also good

If you have a 2.5" SSD then it is a must have enclosure. I have a WD 480 GB SSD so i am looking for a best external enclosure for it which have a long life and robust so i bought this. Enclosure is of premium quality with a solid cable. It is of double price (Rs 600) than cheap enclosure but is of best quality . When i use, it can copy 10 GB data in 1 minute which is write speed .
