Print speed is very impressive and once dialled in it is comparable with the Bambu Lab P2S
I have been using the Flashforge Adventurer 5X for a wide mix of practical workshop parts and decorative multi colour models and it has been a very enjoyable machine to own. Out of the box setup takes around 30 to 45 minutes and after that it is ready to print. The process is well guided and nothing feels confusing even if you are not coming from another Flashforge printer. Full auto levelling works reliably and saves a lot of time. For PLA and PETG there is no need for an enclosure at all. Prints stick well and come out clean and consistent. Flashforge provides a very detailed wiki with clear guides and explanations and that makes learning the printer much easier. From first power on to slicing and printing everything you need is documented clearly and it helps you gain confidence quickly. Files from Makerworld and other STL sharing websites work well and most designs slice without issues in the Flashforge Orca slicer. Some filament is included with the printer which is useful for testing and for the sample prints stored in the internal memory. It does not last long but it is enough to get familiar with the machine and confirm everything is working as expected. Multi colour printing is simple once all four filament ports are loaded. The system handles colour changes automatically. It is worth knowing that multi colour prints take a long time because each layer requires filament changes and this also creates a lot of waste material. That is simply how this system works. There are advanced modifications like Zmod but they require strong software and firmware knowledge and are not realistic for most users. I printed a taller enclosure myself using PETG and files found online. This was mainly to stop the tubes rubbing on the top lid and it worked perfectly. I also added the official camera (not included) which allows monitoring from a phone. The live view is quite laggy and the recorded timelapse quality is not great but it is usable and helpful for checking long prints. Print speed is very impressive and once dialled in it is comparable with the Bambu Lab P2S. Print quality is excellent with smooth walls and accurate dimensions. Hotend changes are straightforward but not tool free as two screws and a small plastic block must be removed. I have used inexpensive aftermarket hotends in sizes 0.25 0.6 and 0.8 and all have worked reliably. Overall this printer offers outstanding performance and flexibility and represents super good value for money for anyone wanting fast dependable multi colour printing at home.

An excellent, easy to use, high quality FDM printer. Backed by a strong brand and good design
I've been 3D printing for over 10 years and use both FDM and resin printers bought from Amazon. The first, a makerbot clone lasted almost 9 years and finally got retired. I bought the flashforge adventurer 5M and wow, what a difference . Whilst the old printer worked fine, it was slow and somewhat questionable in terms of finish of the print. The Flashforge Adventurer 5M is a marked step up in every direction, fast, very fast, very easy to use. The instructions to set up are very simple, accurate and do get you printing in less than the 10 minutes stated. It's the quality that really shows, the all in one nozzle is a breath of fresh air when compared to the multiple components of other machines (including the old makerbot). Yes, a complete nozzle is more expensive than the parts, but look after the machine, use good quality filament and it will reward you with consistent, good quality prints that are are a pleasure to produce and not a fear inducing one (fear as in, will it print completely and not fall off the bed!!) The print bed is also excellent, gone are the days of blue tape, ABS goop, elmers glue etc etc. This bed gives perfect adherence every time and if you are particularly concerned about a print, the supplied Flashforge glue stick contains a liquid that goes on easily and give a very reliable base to print on. The fact that it's then simple to lift the magnetic place and flex it to get the print off, is the icing on the cake. It's also very easy to customise, so, even though this is perfect for the beginner, if you are more advanced, then you can customise this printer very easily, from the enclosure, to light, cameras etc. But importantly, there is no need to customise the hot end of the filament run (unless you go for multiple filaments).

I thought I was buying a nice 3D printer, funny how wrong one can be. So sad. So bigly sad. Oh dear.
Prints are quite good when it works. Which isn't very often. 1 successful print on the day I received the machine, after that and in quick succession we had; The head crashing into the print - even printing at considerably reduced speeed. Screen freezing - the touch screen, by the way, is less responsive than a corpse in full rigor. No way to resume after pausing a print (seriously?) Inability to control Z offset properly. Inability to control print speed simply and easily. Actually, it's not possible to control anything simply and easily. Right, they are the material reasons why it's going back to Amazon tomorrow. Other than that; The Orca software would drive most noobs to insanity. I'm quite experienced with 3D printing and was quite minded to take a sledge hammer ot it. The other offered software is so basic as to be quite silly. Settings applied in the software to control the printing process mostly seem to be completely ignored by the printer. This is just another case of a shoddy product which the provider expects you to re-engineer so it works properly. I very much doubt I will buy another Flashforge product in the foreseeable future. I've actually wanted one of these for a while. Very dissappointed indeed. CoreXY printers should produce better quality prints and be very reliable, this one is neither and I am far from the only person experiencing these exact issues, I guess I'm lucky I didn't get all the other issues as well. Buy something useful instead, start with a nice bottle of wine, it'll make you feel better. A budget bed slinger is far more likely to produce a decent print. *Edit - the following day.* After the courier lied about failing to collect the return (don't even ask), Amazon refunded me and said I can keep the failed printer. Which actually made my day as I love tinkering. I then spent several hours trying to make it at least a bit useful. That was a total fail and I'm currently looking for a very high building I can drop it safely from the top of. Sadly the tinkering was largely a fail. :-( If you're quite determined to give yourself a stress related disease, you can at least alleviate your symptoms slightly, some very nice person has created a profile for Cura, it seems to work fine - so long as you ignore all the other issues. Google 'using cura with flashforge adventurer 5' (other search engines may still be available.) Have fun.

Excellent performance straight out of the box
Bought this because I wanted to upgrade my Anycubic Kobra3 for colour printing and the AMS Ace unit was £250 when bought separately. For not much more money I have upgraded to 4 colours and a core xy printer. My first impressions are: Quite, compact, easy to set up,rigid frame and excellent first layer and bed adhesion. The only things I miss after using the kobra 3 are the illuminated print head and the much cheaper camera accessory. I'm just trying not to get too carried away with coloured prints because like all AMS systems there is a lot of waste between colour changes.

Be careful about installing updates. Some are unstable.
These are great printers. Beginner will find it easy to use as its got auto leveling. The screen is easy to use and keep track of your prints progress, etc. If you're an experienced user you'll appreciate the ease of use and the ability to stop printing just one item if you've filled the build plate. Downside. Flashforge issue regular updates to the firmware claiming extra function and stability, however, during my ownership two updates have been totally unstable causing me failed prints wasted time and loss of income. As I run a print farm ive turned off the WiFi and now transfer files by USB stick. I wait until an update has been around a while and check reactions on forums before I install on my machines. Update 1.2.1 is a disaster.

Easy setup - Excellent print quality and build
Out of the box and up and printing within 10 mins. Setup is quick and easy, just follow the instructions provided and you won't go wrong. I bought this to replace my K1 Speedy which has sadly broken after 18 months solid hammering. I wanted a machine to replace this (K1) and after research I decided to go for the Flashforge. As stated afer 10 mins we were up and running and the first print was ready for the printer. I used the Orca Flashforge software and it's easy to figure out. My first print was not an easy one by any standards - but WOW!!! I am over the moon with the result, so smooth and accurate it's better than anything my previous printer produced. Now I have been printing 3D for over 18 months but I really am delighted with the print quality of this device, another big bonus is that it really is a low noise machine (compared to K1) - the difference is very noticeable. The first print was so good that I can't see any need to 'tinker' with the slicer - if they all turn out like this then I am honestly delighted. A few other things worth noting - Tree supports (i use these a lot) they came off perfectly with no mess! nevver had this on the K1. Loading filament is so easy - I mean really easy. First Layer - early days but amazing!. Speed - More than happy with the 0.4mm nozzle fitted. Build quality - Great for the price point. Screen and display - all good and do the job. Now if your after a decent printer then I don't think you can go wrong with this device. In summary I am simply delighted - lets hope it serves me well.

A truly Plug and Play 3D Printer - AMAZING!
This is my first venture into 3D printing and thanks to the Flashforge Adventurer 3 i am well and truly hooked! My brother is massively into 3D printing and i have asked him to print me some items in the past, he suggested i looked at buying myself one, but to be honest, whilst i am very good at new tech, 3D printing looked way too complicated for even me! Whilst browsing the Amazon daily deals i came across this printer, reading the reviews and watching a few online videos everyone seemed to be saying this device required very little knowledge and just kind of worked straight out of the box - i decided to take the plunge and ordered! When the printer arrived i was immediately super impressed by the build quality of the device and the super smart appearance of the machine. I looked at the instructions included and to be honest they were beyond pointless! I therefore watched a setup video online and hooked up the device. To my amazement it really was just plug and play! I had to download the flashprint 5 software which is free from the manufacturers website - again there is no real instructions on how to use this software but online videos helped me through it and it actually was pretty simple! The printer comes with a small test roll of 250g PLA filament in red. Loading the filament was super easy, just place the roll inside the machine, feed the end into the printer and use the touch screen to pull the filament through. The touch screen guides you through the whole process. I was now ready for my first 3D print - Super Excited! I downloaded a couple of free .STL files and loaded them into Flashprint, clicked a couple of buttons and it send the file to the printer. The display on the printer sprung to life and informed me it was receiving the file, it then displayed a nice 3D image of the item i was printing - which was a Benchy (tug boat). The print took around 1hr 30 mins but WOW - how good did this little boat look!!! That's it i was hooked!! I ordered some more filament in black from Amazon and my next project was a skull that could hold pens/pencils. That has now been printing for around 8hrs and has around 3hrs left - so yes it's not a fast process - the machine takes it time, but the detail is just so amazing! What i love about the machine is that it is super quiet, it does not smell when printing, the print area is fully enclosed, touch screen is great, footprint is nice and compact, internal lights make checking on your print really easy, heat up time is astonishingly fast! Biggest plus is that it really is plug and play with no 3D printing knowledge needed! What i didn't like so much about the machine was, camera is pretty poor quality - you also can not view this in the slicing software but instead have to go to the printers IP address to view - it's good enough for you to check on your print but it's quite dark and lacking in detail, the quality looks like VGA rather than 720p. The printer can also only house 500g reels of filament, which are not value for money compared to larger 1kg rolls, however you can easily solve this buy purchasing a filament holder and having your PLA on the outside of the machine. The print bed is fairly small allowing a max of 150mmx150mmx150mm prints - but for a beginners machine i feel that size print is fine for an introduction into the world of 3D printing. In summary, if you are looking at getting into 3D printing then i very highly recommend you look at investing in the Flashforge Adventurer 3 machine - you honestly can not go wrong with this smart looking device! It is truly is ideal for a novice/beginner who has extremely limited knowledge of this daunting hobby. If you are a more experienced 3D printer then you may want to look elsewhere as this machine is pretty locked down in terms of firmware and customisation options. A truly amazing 3D Printer - i am totally in love with this device! I know for a fact i will be upgrading in the future and getting another machine that can perhaps print a little faster and have a larger print area. I will definitely consider getting another larger flashforge printer as i am super impressed with their product. I can not recommend this enough!!! Over the Moon with it! I hope that you found my review helpful

Must buy another
Still to this day Its a solid printer! After my1200hours of printer I have updated and upgraded only minor things. Its 1500 hours and still running. I also got 2 for my school as D&T teacher and business account get it cheaper £330 it was and £305 now with the discounted price. I have updated the belt with I hated but it doesn't make much of a difference! I used to think its going to be a headache but it was 20min with NO disassembly required! I kid you not. As a High speed printer it’s very fast and it has a lot of torque! So the standard Belt was made to break! The printer will outlive the belt. Fastest way to change the belt is to undo X first from both sides of the printhead, glue one side to the new belt, then just pull through and feed the new one in place. Its that easy and its only 1.5/1.3meters of belt required for X and same goes for Y axes. Printable have a good 5M/5MPro communities as well as Thingyverse. Fot new tool head cooler and such. I advise you to go on Alibaba for part cooling fan if you break it like me or for toolhead fan. Its only £2/£3 each on their and no where to be found on Amazon or Temu. It works a charm. The top lid extension is a must! (You now if you know) Extended Bowden tube and replacement is a must! (Stock one is fragile and incompetent) -grey with 2mm inner bore is a good option. Flexible bed - many options for 256x256 same as many others (cheaper on Aliexpress) And printouts for grills and others such as part cooling clip for safety and long prints is a must if you like tinkering! I tried others such as 2 Auxiliary fans which is a waste of time and money! Do not do it. You could get Opensource Klipper firmware update, BUT stock one is really solid and has updates regularly. You can get better silicon feet than stock ones which are only mentioned to be anti-slip, it does eat up much of the vibrations. Future upgrades I am looking forward to getting a 150x150mm 15mm thich iron plate to weigh down the printer under the bed at the bottom of the cavity as the printer is too light and much the inertia if being transferred rather than disposed off. I want to appreciate and celebrate 🥳 the awesome 3D printer that is both usable and easy to use by far from any other project printers like Creality K1 with an unbeatable price range. I want to shout out to Flashforge for future upgrades and options for UK schools. For inspectors and obligation issues. Latching doors, emergency 🚨 stop button! Filter for intake! This meets 2 levels of safety in the classroom and workshops. And very easy fixes. I have designed and will be releasing the 5Mpro latching for both doors on Thingyverse. The emergency Stop button integration which is basically replacing the switch on the back with a push to break latching button with red and yellow colour. It would be awesome if there was a printable version with a simple limit switch embedded for everyone to tinker!
