This bore brush set includes 8 cleaning brushes (8 sizes: 1(1/8)-, (1.0)-, (7/8)-, (3/4)-, (5/8)-, (1/2)-, (3/8)-, and (1/4)-inch). The 1/4-inch shank on the brush fits most power drills. The brush bristles are made with brass wires for effective cleaning. The brass bristles are softer than stainless steel ones, and remove dirt, rust, corrosion, etc. but are gentle not to damage harder metal surfaces. They are commonly used in applications that include, but are not limited to: (1) firearm maintenance and gun cleaning to clean the inside of barrels or bores, (2) cleaning the inside of pipes and tubes such as plumbing, HVAC, and automotive pipes, tubes, and fittings, (3) cleaning grills to remove grease and grime, (4) cleaning cylinders or bores of engine parts, exhaust systems, boat props, and other automotive and mechanical components, (5) removing rust, corrosion, scale, deposits, or oxidized layers, (6) surface preparation for applying coatings, and other various applications. Instructions: 1. Please ensure necessary precautions & wear appropriate PPE. 2. Prepare the cleaning area by protecting or removing the parts not to be cleaned. 3. Select the appropriate size of bore brush for the task at hand. Using the wrong size may damage the tools and/or parts. 4. Use the bore brush only on a power drill, not an impact driver. Impact driver may cause damage to the tools or parts. 5. Set the drill to run at a low speed to avoid high torques. Low speed is sufficient to effectively clean the parts or surfaces. 6. Make sure the drill is set to run in the clockwise direction. The brushes are not designed to run counterclockwise. 7. When cleaning the inside of pipes, fittings, barrels, tubes, etc., align the brush to their axes. 8. Avoid applying too much unsymmetrical lateral force to the brush. 9. Keep the drill running while inserting the brush and removing it. Do not reverse the rotation direction of the drill at any point during the cleaning process. Review: A better than average boar brushes - I would like to start with I don't do enough reviews on things that I am using often so this is a bit of a longer than normal review for something as simple as a boar brush. Just paying it back for all the reviews that I read for everything that I purchase so here we go. I just received these bore brushes and to be honest I have not put them through the paces as I have previous purchases normally I use these for cleaning out intake manifolds on cars from carbon buildup and say Toyota Prius Chevy LS Motors and my Jaguar where you get thick carbon buildup all over the place intake valves intake Runners and even down into the combustion cylinders. So this is the ultimate test for a boar brush durability. I have gone through just about every style that is on desertcart. These are much better than the ones you get in that blue box with 38 pieces actually it is 36 brushes those when powered if you look at my pictures with an impact and an extension going down into an intake runner if you're not absolutely straight with it and going very gently that thing is going to twist and break whether it's brand new or you've been using it for a while it doesn't matter that thing's broke as soon as you get out of line, if you see my other pictures what I've done is used different devices to be able to continue using them the copper looking tubes are actually out of a window air conditioning unit that I recycled work perfectly stick the leftover part in there and pinch It Off and use it by hand obviously not with the impact now. So these bore brushes unlike the blue box ones if you can tell by the pictures that you can actually see the name I made sure the name was visible on the ones from this product the wire in them is actually thicker I'm not talking about the brush where I'm talking about the structure wire the the mount into the quarter drive base is much better and if you look at the amount of bristles it's also probably twice as much easily and my one run that I did do it stood up remarkably better than the blue box model. And when I say I put these things through their paces I that blue box you see the picture of with most of the brushes missing, that was a day working, so they get fairly expensive if you need something to last for a heavier duty job. So I worked out the prices I paid $21 for these 16 brushes works out to $1.31 each the blue box it's actually 36 brushes but you do get the handle which is cool and the box which is cool which I repurposed now with these brushes that I just got which is great so not a bad expenditure if this is something you're going to use you just don't want to use those brushes anymore those are 83 cents a piece in the other pictures you see the small box or six of those in that box I paid $15 for six brushes those are actually Plumbing brushes meant to clean out copper pipes for an actual commercial plumber those things are built like a tank and of course the price shows it at $2.50 each so to me depending on the job that I'm doing is most definitely worth it not to have two put on another brush each time obviously costing money and time, also it is quite the waste of money when something is fragile that by its very description needs to be strong obviously it has a quarter Drive attachment on one side so that does not mean you're going to use it by hand if it's going to fit in a power tool to me it's going into a power tool. So back to this product I think they're great way better than any of the cheaper ones out there obviously a little bit more money but much much better if you see by the picture it's like I said the wires probably close to twice the thickness it may not show up like that but you know the blue box compared to this brand the wire the support wire is pretty close to being twice as thick twice as many wire strands in there and the little bit I did use it it worked much better it did not snap off when I got out of line it bent over I bent it back and continued on working and didn't have a problem. I took pictures of all my Contraptions cuz trying to get into intake manifolds in the various other jobs that I do with these and of course also cleaning gun barrels LOL, so I like any of the extensions that you can use they have a locking end on them that will lock a quarter Drive attachment as opposed to just a magnetic one like that thinner straight one is just a magnet attachment the plastic handles that you see there on the quarter Drive Extension rods those are ball bearing handles and they came with a pretty pricey scrub brush set, the brushes were crap I didn't care about it for these handles never seen it before in my life they are awesome, I bought them on desertcart unfortunately I don't remember the company name, they were rated I think three stars, like I said I didn't care I wanted these ball bearing handles to go on a quarter Rod things are phenomenal never seen them before they work awesome for a multitude of tasks. I threw in the little Dremel attachment brushes cuz I do use those as well on quite a few projects I got so irritated with these things being pieces of crap and falling apart right away I honest to God but every single model or companies version of these things on desertcart all of them over $500 I was so irritated by these things turns out not one of them was different every single one of these that I bought was from obviously the same manufacturer just sold by different companies. Just a hint with these if you take a socket that fits you know a small socket that will fit around the drive picture of these as a rivet with brushes sticking out of them wire brush sticking out of a rivet is exactly what they are so if you pinch that rivet tighter the wires won't fly out as you see some of those have chunks of wires missing that would happen within 30 seconds of running these things at any rate of speed with any actual use for a wire brush, okay on a car that is dirty or electrical connections that are severely corroded I don't baby my tools and I found that they last exponentially longer with just a simple couple of minutes going through and doing several of them at a time and with a punch and a thin socket on one side to lock that rivet down tighter the wires actually stay in there until they wear out which is wonderful. Also on the bore brushes if you take vise grips small pair at the top and the bottom of that wire stack and twist it tighter it will help keep the wires in the bore brushes as well. I hope I was helpful to you navigating the desertcart product overload at least with your bore brush purchase. This now concludes my desertcart review duty for the month LOL! And if you use these reviews when you're shopping for products on desertcart when you do get a chance and do have information try and help everybody out and leave at least some information about a product whether it's good or bad it helps us all I know every time I purchase something on desertcart I spend at least a few minutes reading through reviews left by other people they have purchased whatever I was looking at . Have a joyous and wonderful holiday season! Review: Great value copper wire brush set. - Great value, very durable and did the job I needed it to do. I've gone through most of the sizes and they've all held up and continue to work great. Would buy again.

Good at first,
Good package of assorted brushes. Exactly what I needed for the job I was doing. Started out great until the twisted wire snapped off at the drill base making it unusable. Ok for gentle work.

A versatile set
Good brushes. Read the instructions because they are only supposed to be rotated in a clockwise direction. They seem to be pretty sturdy.

Great chamber cleaning tools.
Theses are amazing to really clean out a gunked up chamber, they work great and if you have a really long bit could be used for bores. There is definitely a 12-20-.45-.30-.22 in this package and others that can be used if needed with some elbow grease. Haven’t noticed rusting but imagine it will rust fast so keep it oiled.

Buy something better made in the USA
Pure garbage. Strictly a one-use item if that. Easily bends on low-speed and the bristles bend and bind. Don't waste your money. Go and find a quality built set made in the USA. I needed these for cleaning rust out of 1" tubing before going out for chroming and I was better off using acid.

Good quality
I purchased these because I am always needing to clean holes in different types of machines, good assortment of different size brushes, good quality.

Great quality for the price
Great product for the price. Used this to clean rust from a badly seized brake caliper "bolt pin" hole (Had to use a hammer and "chisel" to remove the bolt pin which damaged the bolt head a bit having to hit it so hard. Made quick work of rust removal and ready to go asap.
