They work - especially if you prep the area well
These worked great in pulling out a dent in a plastic bumper (vw polo). I prepared the area first by cleaning (washing up liquid and water) then gently pouring a kettle full of hot water over the dent to soften the plastic. I’d previously cleaned the suckers and smeared a tiny amount of Vaseline on them to help assure a good seal. Because of this prep the suckers stuck very well and I pulled out the dent very easily (I think heating the area helped a lot here). I’d think they’d work well on metal too but can’t be sure, but good prep would increase the chances of success.

Perfect for holding car window in place
I used these to hold a car window in place while replacing the regulator (motor mechanism). Performed very well: they did not loose suction and were easy to apply and remove once job complete. Probably have many other uses. Great price and happy with the purchase.

Perfect for home use.
I had to fix a greenhouse after a storm and I needed a way of manoeuvring panes into place from the inside as I could not reach from the outside without extensive scaffolding. And the greenhouse wasn't worth that much. These were perfect and produced a tight enough grip that I was able to pull down on the panes and bed them into the sealant with no issues. Useful purchase.
