Great company, amazing foods.
The Honest Kitchen has always been a favorite of mine. This is no exception. My dog loves it. It is a bit pricey, but full of good ingredients.

Our dog makes this topper disappear quickly when it hits the bowl
We add this as a topper to keep our dog's kibble interesting for her. Honest Kitchen is one of the few boutique brands I trust for quality and healthy ingredients. We call it the disappearing kibble because our dog makes it disappear rather quickly.

Best dog food loaded with nutrition.
I have two picky eaters a chihuahua and a Yorkie both of them love this dog food. I love the fact that it is not baked at high temperatures The only dog food I've ever been able to crush with my fingers. It is a great product with lots of good nutrition.

The only kibble that my dog can eat!
The packaging is poor because resealing the bag is a pain. However, one of my dogs is super allergic to most kibble brands out there. Believe me, I’ve tried them all! He eats it but throws it up. I had to start making food for him for two years but then he was losing too much weight and though his blood tests and everything was fine both myself and the vet were worried about how skinny he was. I then found Honest Kitchen! This has been a lifesaver. While it’s not the most budget friendly it is cheaper than the prescription food that still made him sick. This is the only dry kibble that has allowed him to keep the food down AND gain back the right amount of weight. He is now a healthy size and he loves eating. He is just as excited to eat this as the ground turkey I use to make for him.

Good Food
After hearing all the recent reports of dogs dying after eating Purina, I decided to switch to The Honest Kitchen. It's probably the best commercial kibble you can get. It's cold pressed and slow baked at low temperatures in small batches. Most other kibbles are hot extruded (steamed at high temperatures) which strips them of nutrients and causes carcinogens to enter the food. Also, The Honest Kitchen sued the FDA in 2007 for the right to say they use human grade ingredients, and they won. They won because they only source food from places that provide food meant for humans. I also like the ingredients they use. No by-products, meals, fillers, etc. As far as the dog goes, he likes the food and is doing well on it. I understand kibble isn't the best food for a dog. You should definitely add some fresh food to it as much as you can, but this is the best kibble, if you're going to use kibble, as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, if you want to learn more about the horrors of the pet food industry watch PetFooled. It's right on Amazon Prime Video.

honest kitchen wins again
after a short confusing loss, honest kitchen wins again. my little but mighty working dog is allergic to both chicken and all rice. that itself is limiting. i've been happily and successfully using the honest kitchen base mixes and alternating beef and salmon protein. but after surgery this summer on my wrist i may be facing a second surgery on it and to be truthful, at my advanced age i need to put her on something that anyone can feed her without cooking. i tried the grain free beef clusters as she was eating the grain free based mixes. but the old allergies arose. i tried a couple other good brands then bought the one pound bag of beef and oats clusters. we are now 15 days in and all is fine. i read reviews and use the powder mixed with water on her lick mats which is great since i have to be so careful about the allergy situation. she still gets half the base mix food i make up but her system is so used to both now someone can swap her cold turkey to one or the other. i'm so happy to be able to stick with honest kitchen as it is an excellent food that all my vets agree on. so next bag will be the 5 pound one. yay for a winner again.

I wanted to love it, but not nutritionally complete
I thought I was doing my dog a favor by having a less processed whole food. It would be great but I listened to a vet speak on the analysis of this product. Apparently the puppy food it nutritionally complete but the adult food is not at all. I have been feeding this food for awhile and I’m sad to know I’m not giving my dog the correct nutrients that they need to be healthy. I hope they change their formula to be nutritionally complete and I’ll switch back.
