Very easy to set up and gives a comprehensive scan. I know it's subscription based but the quality of the information provided is very good and for most owners is worth the money.

A good OBD scanner indeed. I have used it on multiple cars from many different manufacturers. The device recommends and app, this then gives you a very comprehensive list of car manufacturers. From there you can navigate the menus with ease on your smart phone. I does ask to identify the vehicle by reading its vin number, some times this does not work due to the individual car manufacturer selection not being upto date. This is easily done by selecting an update on the app. It also seems to work better if you switch on your location. The faults it can read seem to be limitless. you do have the option to clear these faults and also look up the fault code through the app. On a whole I have found this Bluetooth obd reader to be fantastic. Certainly saves you the cost of a garage read and the fact that it can constantly be updated is great. I'm on my second year with it and have had no additional cost.

I purchased this for about half the price of my Carly adapter that does not support gen 1 mini ( you don't find out until you read the small print) the Topdon is a quality bit of kit with a metal and plastic case also beeps to say it's connected and has lights that flash to show its powerd up the app is awesome easy to use and cleared my codes restoring my cruise control and identifying a dead 02 sensor if I would have known I would have purchased this before I spent my money on the carly all in all a great bit of kit lots to do on the app and works on Gen 1 mini coopers 10/10 A******** you can't go wrong

Great for finding codes and clearing them (as long as you fix the issue first).. bought this originally to clear my airbag warning light on a 1 series BMW and did the trick perfectly (after fitting an seat mat emulator).. I’m only Gunna give it 4 stars because with this tool you can test all your electrics like air con, windows, washers etc but the only engine component it lets you test is the fan on the BMW software (don’t know about others yet) so that’s the only thing I’d say is missing from this tool but apart from that it’s decent. Was worried about some of the reviews saying it always drops connection and constantly updates but I’ve had this a week or so and it only updated when I first put it on and it’s never dropped connection once 🤞🏼 easy for a beginner this is my first ever scan tool and before I got this I had a person scan my car with Carly and this found the EXACT same faults as that so on a diagnostic view it’s as good as Carly but obvs you can’t do any coding etc but if your just looking for a basic scan tool that’s pretty fast and finds all the codes and clears them, then this is defo worth buying. I know about the subscription thing aswel and that doesn’t bother me most of them are like this now for your phone. I just think next year I’ll try a proper software on a old laptop because I really wanna get deeper in to it but for now this is all I need to get my car back to a healthy state. Would recommend if your only using it to scan and clear codes efficiently.. another issue is the DPF regen didn’t work for Me but it maybe coz I have a code still on my car which hasn’t been fixed yet (turbo emulator) and I have no doubt once it’s fixed this will clear that code instantly!

I purchased the Topdon universal OBD scanner as a Christmas gift, intending to use it on my 2009 Volvo V70 to save money on diagnostic fees. After reading the positive marketing and reviews, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it does not do what I bought it for. While the scanner powers up, connects via Bluetooth, and displays some very basic vehicle information, it is unable to connect to the car’s ECM and therefore cannot read any engine data. For my vehicle at least, it functions only as a very basic OBD reader and is effectively incompatible with Volvo systems. I then tried to contact Topdon support for assistance, but the support portal repeatedly logs you out and sends you back to the login screen in an endless loop, making it impossible to submit a query or get help. Overall, this product has not lived up to its advertised capabilities. The marketing suggests a far more capable diagnostic tool than it actually is, and the lack of usable customer support only adds to the frustration. I would strongly recommend researching compatibility with your specific vehicle before purchasing.

Perfect tool for the job. I'm not one to leave reviews but this tool deserves the credit. Simple to use and can put Renault cars into service mode for changing brake pads which many cheaper tools can't do.

This product is so compact - it’s like a gadget full of features when it comes to automotive diagnostics I needed this to reset a service light and engine management light on my Mercedes E Class that had come on I downloaded the software through the Apple Store got it up and running in less than 5 minutes. Connected it to the car with my iPad and then scanned the car . It can be used with the iPhone too but I chose the iPad as I'm a bit older and seeing the menu choices can be a little difficult It was super speedy to scan and it went in and read the car with no issues I’ve never used one of these before so for me this was a completely new territory but as a 70 year old I usually ask a friend for assistance on all things technical but on this occasion I impressed myself by doing it all by myself A little storage case would be perfect for this that’s the only downside but other than that you can see by my photos it’s actual packaging is no bigger than a a small glass of water so it really is compact 5 stars from me!

L'associazione con l'applicazione è molto macchinosa, ma una volta associata , è preso dimestichezza con l'applicazione (io francamente ho dovuto smanettare molto per capire come usare determinate funzioni) ma ne è valsa la pena, sono stato in grado di leggere in autonomia la centralina ABS ed AIRBAG, ed andare ad intervenire esattamente sui sensori e connettori incriminati, senza smontare roba inutilmente o farmi derubare da un elettrauto per farmi le due diagnosi che mi servivano. Inoltre è stato possibile resettare completamente i fuel trim, insomma, è vero che la licenza dura solo un anno, ma personalmente credo che valga anche di più di quanto richiesto. È un prodotto che mi sento di consigliare. NB: permette anche il reset degli errori su centralina abs ed esp
