Perfect for the money, I love it

This is a sturdy light stand from Walimex that extends to 2.5M. I have some cheaper stands that go up to 3M and that cost almost a quarter the price of this one but you get what you pay for, and if you're hoisting studio lamps especially it's worth paying the extra for something a little studier. The bottom section on the Walimex is 35mm diameter, compared to the cheaper variant I have at just 25mm - the walimex just feels sturdier and better made. Of course it's no Manfrotto, but then it doesn't have the price tag of a Manfrotto stand either. The sections are sprung rather than gas damped (the cheaper variants I have don't have any damping at all). On balance I'd prefer gas damping - the springs seem like a cheap second cousin and if your kit comes down unexpectedly I'd worry that it may get jarred when the spring bounces it back up again. But this is a minor point really - you get what you pay for once again, and some damping is better than none at all. The stand comes with a carry bag (which seems a little unnecesary to me) and an adaptor which converts the spiggot on top from 1/4" to 3/8". At first I thought that the adaptor sat rarther loosely on the 1/4" spigot until I realised that it screws over the top of the other one and is then very secure indeed. The sections can be secured with a quarter turn of each locking lever - compared to my cheaper stands which use a wing nut/screw mechanism. A minor difference, but adjusting the Walimex is quicker and easier as a result. So in summary this is a great light stand for the price - well worth paying a little extra for compared to cheaper alternatives. But if you want absolute quality and build quality you'll be better off with something like a Manfrotto, provided you're happy to pay 2-3 times the price of the Walimex. Recommended.

This is a substantial piece of heavy-duty equipment, built to support studio lights. The obvious thing that is different about it is that the extension tubes are sprung. I’m not sure why. I’ve never felt the need for springs in my light stands, however, considering how heavy monoblocs can be, I guess it offers a little protection should you let go while lowering or raising a light. The three legs, at maximum extension, will fit in a circle with a diameter of 3’8”. The poles extend to 8’, but with the legs at maximum extension the base of the pole is 5” above ground so total height is 8’5”. The tubes are large diameter, and my guess is made from aluminium. The locking catches are easy enough to operate and the top has a standard studio light fitting with a standard tripod screw built in to the top. It comes with a carrying bag complete with shoulder strap and an adapter to change the size of the screw on the top. There’s not really anything else I can say. It’s solid, well-built, and looks as though it’s built to last.

I have a Walimex softbox light/stand and the design of this stand is similar, but the construction is noticeably sturdier with less plastic and a generally more positive fit and finish with this. At over 2.5m tall this is probably as tall as you would need for home studio use (it's pretty much ceiling height). Two screw sizes should cover most attachment requirements and a supplied bag is useful for storage and transport. The spring loaded poles seem to serve no purpose other than to catch you out, aside from that it's all good.

One thing that has changed little in the last four or five decades in the film and photography industry is the design of lightning stands. Three telescopic sections, three folding legs and a standard 5/8" spigot on the top. The only significant difference between different designs is the maximum height and weight of the stand - obviously, the heavy the light, the heavier the stand needs to be. This Walimex stand is reasonably sturdy - if you are from the film world it is closer to a blonde stand than a redhead stand. This means it is not as compact as some stands (98cm when folded) but will take moderately heavy lights (the manufacturers claim up to 6Kg but I think that is a little optimistic if you want a stable fixture - I would not be happy putting a light weighing more than 4Kg on this stand). The top of the spigot has (an increasingly standard) 1/4" screw thread and, less commonly, an adapter that screws over this offering a 5/8" thread. The stand sections are also sprung internally - this means if you release one of the clamps carelessly the section above will be cushioned in its fall, avoiding a shock that is likely to break the filament of a hot light. It also comes in its own carrying case - something I've never seen used in all my years in the film industry. All in all, this looks like a solidly made stand and good value for money.

This light stand seems to be well made and seems like it should be durable. It's quick and easy to put up and pack away, and the design means your not likely to damage a light if you release a section by mistake. It comes with a bag which is useful for storage, but more importantly makes the stand easy to carry. This stand seems to compare well with other more expensive ones I've got. Overall, this is a cost effective stand that is easy to recommend.

Ich habe das Walimex pro Lichtstativ WT-806 nun schon seit einigen Wochen im Einsatz und bin absolut zufrieden. Es ist robust, stabil und bietet ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, besonders im Vergleich zu anderen Lichtstativen in dieser Preisklasse. Die Federdämpfung ist ein besonders tolles Feature, das den Auf- und Abbau von Lichtquellen deutlich vereinfacht. Es sorgt dafür, dass die Leuchten oder Softboxen bei Anpassungen sanft heruntergleiten und nicht ruckartig oder mit einem “Knall” in die Endposition fahren. Dadurch wird das Verletzungsrisiko erheblich verringert, besonders wenn man alleine arbeitet. Das Stativ selbst ist sehr stabil und trägt problemlos schwere Lichter oder Softboxen. Ich verwende es sowohl für Studioaufnahmen als auch für Outdoor-Shootings und habe festgestellt, dass es sowohl auf ebenem Boden als auch auf unebenen Flächen eine stabile Haltung bietet. Mit einer maximalen Höhe von 2,80 Metern ist es ideal für den Einsatz bei Porträt- und Produktfotografie, wo ich oft hohe Lichtquellen oder Blitzgeräte benötige. Besonders gut gefällt mir, dass das Stativ sehr leicht und kompakt ist, was es einfach zu transportieren macht. Es lässt sich schnell zusammenklappen und im mitgelieferten Tragebeutel bequem verstauen, was vor allem bei Shootings unterwegs sehr praktisch ist. Anwendungsbeispiel: Bei einem kürzlichen Porträtshooting im Studio war das Walimex pro Lichtstativ WT-806 ein unverzichtbares Werkzeug. Ich habe eine große Softbox auf das Stativ montiert, um eine weiche Ausleuchtung zu erzielen. Während des Shootings musste ich die Höhe des Lichts mehrmals anpassen, was mit der Federdämpfung problemlos und ohne ruckartige Bewegungen möglich war. So konnte ich das Licht sehr präzise ausrichten, ohne dass es zu einer plötzlichen Bewegung oder gar einem Sturz der Softbox kam. Besonders bei langen Shootings war ich froh, dass das Stativ so stabil war und das Setup zuverlässig hielt. Fazit: Das Walimex pro Lichtstativ WT-806 hat mich in jeder Hinsicht überzeugt. Es ist robust, leicht zu bedienen und bietet eine hohe Stabilität für anspruchsvolle Foto- und Videoaufnahmen. Die Federdämpfung ist ein herausragendes Detail, das den Umgang mit dem Stativ besonders sicher und komfortabel macht. Ich kann dieses Stativ jedem empfehlen, der auf der Suche nach einem qualitativ hochwertigen Lichtstativ für Studio- oder Außeneinsätze ist.

Moin! Die beiden Stative haben einen sehr guten und fairen Preis, zusammen mit einer sehr guten Qualität. Ich nutze die Stative hauptsächlich für meine Backdrops und für meine Studioblitze. In der Nutzung mit einem Backdrop sind diese sehr stabil und haben aufgrund ihres vernünftiges Gewichtes auch eine gute Stabilität. In der Nutzung mit meinen Walimex VE-400 Excellence sind die Stative sehr stabil und auch ohne Angst mit Softboxen nutzbar (siehe Bilder). Man sollte nur, wenn man größere und schwerere Lichtformer nutzt, ab einer gewissen Höhe Sandsäcke oder ähnliches zum beschweren nutzen. Wenn man den Lichtformer in die Richtung eines der Stativbeine ausrichtet, braucht man auch dies vorerst nicht. Für den gebotenen Preis kann ich das Stativset also sehr empfehlen. Sie haben eine sehr gute Qualität und ein gutes und nicht zu leichtes Gewicht, sodass man mühelos Studioblitze mit Lichtformern nutzen kann. Vorallem positiv ist, dass man für den Preis gleich 2 dieser tollen Stative bekommt, während andere selbst für ein Stativ deutlich mehr Geld verlangen.

Tanta roba davvero. Pesa pochissimo ma regge un sacco una combinazione che non si trova spesso. Arriva pure con la sua sacchetta, comoda per portarlo in giro senza rischiare di rovinarlo. E il prezzo basso top, io l'ho pagato veramente poco. In sintesi: solido, pratico e ultra conveniente.

Ich habe angesichts mancher Rezensionen gezögert mir dieses Stativ-Set zu kaufen. Im Nachhinein waren meine Bedenken völlig überflüssig. Die Stative kommen in einer funktionalen Tasche und sind kinderleicht aufzubauen. An der Stabilität gibt es nichts zu bemängeln und auch die Verarbeitung war einwandfrei. Wer jedoch glaubt bei diesem Preis ein Stativ zu erwerben, auf dem man noch in 2,50m Höhe eine x Kilo schwere Lampe stand-sicher betreiben kann, der muss natürlich enttäuscht sein. Für handelsübliche Lampen und Blitzgeräte incl. Zubehör sind diese Stative mehr als ausreichend stabil. Das Handling im Betrieb ist kinderleicht. die Verschlüsse arbeiten sauber und präzise. Die erst gefürchtete Federspannung entpuppte sich als sehr angenehm, sinnvoll und bei Weitem nicht so dramatisch wie oftmals geschildert. Wenn man dann doch mal gedankenverloren den Verschluss öffnet, knallt die Lampe wenigstens nicht allzu hart auf, sondern wird durch die Feder im Fall gebremst. Man sollte sich natürlich nicht direkt mit dem Gesicht über das Stativ beugen, wenn man die Verschlüsse öffnet, aber das versteht sich ja von selbst. Auch nach längerem Gebrauch sind die Verschlüsse immer noch intakt und fest. Es mag vielleicht auch ein wenig daran liegen wie man damit arbeitet. Das die Verschlüsse nachgezogen werden können sehe ich eher als Vorteil. Bei Stativen gleicher Preisklasse wird meist genietet. Sämtliche Befestigungen sind sind an diesem Stativ geschraubt - also sehr wartungsfreundlich - den passenden Steckschlüssel vorausgesetzt. Fazit: Preiswertes und robustes Stativ-Set das ich nur empfehlen kann.
