Seagate One Touch 2TB, Password activated hardware encryption, portable external hard drive, PC, Notebook & Mac, USB 3.0, Space Gray (STKY2000404)

I've had Seagate drives before and this is exactly the same, except thicker, presumably to accommodate a thicker platter. It works quietly and smoothly and I've never had to question the date transfer rate, which has been fine for me. For technical reasons these drives are generally thought best suited to periodic backups (which is what I bought it for) raher than for heavy, continuous data exchange and storage. The only tip I would offer is that if using it to save backups, with such a vast storage capacity it would be a good idea to start by setting out a clear directory structure as otherwise it soon becomes easy to lose things!

Excellent, silent in operation, easy to set up, constant reminders that it it backing up data, these are all positive features of these lightweight playing card-sized HDDs. I bought two as they are compatible with my Windows 11 computer, and do not regret my purchase. The storage capacity, after allowing for their operating software is just under 2TB, but that was already expected. If you complete the full set-up a registration process, you are protevcted by Seagate from loss of data, through their own 24/7 services. An excellent purchase that I would recommend.

Not the quickest of drives but reliable. I use it purely for photography so uploading bulk files it handles perfectly. I couldn't recommend it for videos due to the slow drive speeds and also you wouldn't be able to edit directly off of the drive.

Great device with good transfer speed. Though I was expecting the cable to come with type C for the connection to the computer. But overall, it’s a perfect device with the ease of use.

I haven't had this drive very long. I'm using it as a backup disc for a Mac laptop that demanded more than 3TB for regular Time Machine backups. I had to reformat the drive, so didn't benefit from the software provided. So far it seems robust. It's small, with a strong case. It's quiet and quick in operation. I look forward to using it in the long term. I will add to this review when I've had more experience of the device.

Loads of storage. Very simple to use. Plug it in and off it goes. Not the fastest but very good for the money. Yes i would buy another one if i needed to.

Great storage size, durable and compact so easy to carry along. Always a fan of segate. Not very noisy and data transfer is rather fast

I bought this for a friend who needs extra storage and from having used Seagate for myself in the past (which is my main go-to for HD storage) I decided to get this for her. Comes formatted for a PC which is easy to format if you need to which I do, been using these products formatted to EXT4 for many years, not had a single drive fail. Nice and sleek and a nice form factor.

This HDD works beautifully from the get go without totally needing a powered external USB but you might want one. Quiet operation and quickly moves data. Shipping is quick and easy in as the precision storage comes in an easy to open bare cardboard envelope without padding. Totally recommended!
