Blue Ginkgo Kitchen Compost Bin [2.6L / 0.69 GAL] – Filter-Free, Odor-Tight Countertop Food Waste Pail with Handles (Made in Korea, Gray)

Perfect counter top compost bin! I wanted a small compost bin that I could utilize on the counter while cutting up vegetables etc. I also wanted it to have a lid so I could use it for a few days without having fruit flies until it could be taken outside to our larger compost area. This definitely fit the bill! It is made of a sturdy silicone material that has an airtight lid and a removable inner basket with drainage holes. It is approximately 8.5" tall x 6.75 " wide. The inner basket is approximately 8" deep. I usually leave the inner basket in place when taking it outside to prevent leaking. I was worried that it might be too small but it's really a great size and holds a several days worth of vegetable and fruit cuttings with no smell as the lid is airtight. I don't see a need for a bin with a filter as this works exactly as described and is easy to manage. I use it as an intermediate holding place for compost waste and empty it every few days. It is very easy to rinse out and reuse.

We've been putting our food scraps in open plastic containers on the kitchen counter. My husband would make regular trips out to the garden with them, but they were unsightly and attracted little gnats. I finally got tired of looking at them, and ordered this. We ordered the larger size which is quite handy because we use a lot of fruits and vegetables. We can fill this bin in 2 or 3 days. It is convenient and looks so much nicer than the open plastic containers. It is lightweight, easy to fill, and has a tight-fitting lid and a handle for easy removal. The inner basket does have holes in the bottom, so we have to take the whole bin outside to avoid leakage on the counter and floor. There is no odor and it looks great on the kitchen counter without taking up too much precious counter space. It does take both hands to remove the basket because of the tight suction. I don't know how much composting it will do on its own because we probably won't leave the scraps in there long enough to begin composting, but it works great for our needs.

Subtle, in a marble countertop with off white cabinets, it goes un noticed. Blends in well. Holds up to 1 to 2 days of kitchen waste - perfect size. Can carry out to tumbler without getting your hands dirty and regularly emptying leaves no smell. Excellent quality.

This is nice and compact and doesn't take up much room on my limited kitchen counter. My only complaint is that the lid has to be pinched on the top to be removed and sometimes it sticks, requiring a second hand to hold down the container. This is annoying if I have a full or messy hand. Otherwise a great and attractive product.

This is a great bin. I like that it closes tight so no odor escapes to attract flies and other insects and to leave undesirable smell in the kitchen where the only odor should be the food being cooked. I use compostable bags to line the bin and to keep it clean I first place a small plastic bag before the liner in case it gets punctured, and it still closes. It holds a large amount of scraps, so depending on what foods I am preparing, I only have to discard once a week for recycling. The two handles mske the bin easy to pick up and empty easily, but since I use the liner there is very little need for me to use them at all. The material used for construction is sturdy, and easy to clean. The only con is that odors tend to cling to the interior, but soaking for a few minutes with some baking soda helps to freshen, so it is a very minor issue. I prefer to use an item for some time before reviewing so that my critique will reflect if it lives up to the manufacturer’s hype. I can honestly say this product has lived up to the claims made and in my opinion is great value for the money.

This is great. Easy to clean, larger size is perfect for 2 people. We take it to a compost facility and it does not tip over in the back of the car. Handle on the inside bin makes it easy to empty.

Love this bucket! I tossed my old bucket that didn't have a cover and got old. This is so much nicer, lets fluids drain so no sour food smells. Made well, and very attractive for a kitchen scrap container.

I have been using this compost bin for a few weeks now. I wasn't sure about the size when I first when I received it. I can now say it is the perfect size for a family of four. It is small enough to be used on the counter top making disposing of food easy. I also enjoy that it contains the smell inside the bin and not the entire house. It does separate the liquid from the solid which means no more soggy bags of compost.

Très pratique car le panier laisse passer les liquides éventuels . Donc compost plus sec. Facile a mettre au lave-vaisselle. 2 suffisent pour un turn over dans famille de 4 personnes. On jette moins de liquide dans le composteur rotatif de la ferme du moutta (vendu sur Amazon)

This is quite small but well made and looks pretty. I use this with compostable bags, just for used cat litter. It might be too small for kitchen scraps unless you empty frequently or don’t need a regular capacity kitchen counter bin.
