Product works great. Easy to install, provides a nice close to the fence, it is even and does not slam the door.

It does the job. I had originally wanted it to close a gate when mounted at a 90 degree angle, but adjusting the tension to handle a final 90 degree angle was too risky (read painful). I tried adjusting the tension on the spring and it came loose. You'll need two wrenches (as instructions say). They must be held tightly on the nuts. I would recommend two socket wrench sockets. Those are les likely to slip. I believe they are both 3/4", but don't quote me. I ended up mounting the closer differently, and added some wood for the closer spring plate to ride upon. It was quite noisy when the wire slid upon the gate plate but a little oil helped that. The spring still makes a sound, but maybe oiling that could help.

I have been using this now for a few months. It is very strong and works well, except sometimes it seems to get stuck and the friction of the coil keeps the spring tension locked. I end up having to open it all the way and then letting it close a couple times. Lubrication doesn't seem to have fixed it long term. I have it installed outside on a gate.

Lated 7 months and then the spring broke in two places. Needs a more robust spring that can withstand the weather. Can't recommend this closer.

These work as advertised. Our problem was a very large gate with strong winds. I ended up putting two units on the gate and that did the trick. The pressure plate seems kind of flimsy but it has worked so far .Just make sure you place it over far enough. I didn't think about the movement of the spring arm and had to move it over a bit after testing.
