this is about 10 times the price of DeWalt or Irwin, is it worth that much?

If you just are a framer and it’s not that critical where things are placed. I’m a commercial Glazer our doors have to be perfect it’s definitely worth the extra price to have a quality chalk and fine line.

if i use this to snap a line on my wall/ceiling, can i use a wet rag to wipe away the line when done? does it stain or leave a yellowish color behind?

DO NOT USE TAJIMA PERMANENT CHALK ON YOUR WALLS (won't come off or very hard to come off walls, hands, furniture, etc), UNLESS YOU ARE COVERING THEM WITH CABINETS OR SOMETHING ELSE WHERE THE LINE WILL NEVER BE SEEN.....Try small spot on your wall that may be behind a couch to see if a wet rag will wipe off chalk without leaving a yellowish color behind. Remember Yellow chalk is easiest to clean, then Blue and last Red....Now, it depends on what type of paint your walls are? If your walls are Gloss or Semi-gloss there should not be a problem after wiping walls with wet rag nor should there be any yellowish residue left behind. Gloss, Semi-gloss, Eggshell walls have a smooth finish and the purpose for this type of paint is to wipe and clean things off the walls.....Gloss being the easiest to wipe and clean......If you have Flat paint, you will more than likely will have a Yellow residue due to Flat paint is absorbent. I buy Tajima Chaulk boxes (Red Chalk Box is a thinner braided line and will snap a fine line.....Dark Blue Chalk box is thicker line and will snap a thicker line). Only use Tajima chalk with Tajima Chalk boxes or they will cake up and get stuck with other chalk that is not as fine...... If you use other chalk box brands with Tajima chalk you will get a thicker line, since most of the chalk boxes at your store are a thicker line and do leave a mess.

Can I use this to keep ants out of my house?

Probably but that would be quite expensive. I would suggest diatomaceous earth for ants.

Perfect! A must for self winding Caulk line

Perfect white chalk

white chalk can't be found in the box stores. didn't want to use red or blue on composite deck. this white chalk is perfect and cleans of nicely.

The only stuff to use in Tajima chalk box

Great stuff. Nice crisp lines. Adheres to snap line nicely. However, once a snap line gets wet this stuff binds to the line and chalk will never stick to it again. When this happens it’s just easier to get a new chalk box rather than fuss with replacing the line. (Don’t ask me how I know.) Tip: in wet weather be slow to pull out your Tajima. Let the other guy get his out first and ruin his line.

Nice brilliant line that you can wash away from painted interiors

Bought this chalk after trying the white. I was doing interior work and didn't want to stain the walls and be able to wipe/wash it away later. The white was great for this, but I was having trouble in rooms with lighter color paints and whenever there was a transition in light in the room. So I bought this green chalk in hopes that it wouldn't leave permanent marks. It works great and I can still wash it away. And it leaves a super bright line. I was working in rooms with wood floors and the color is so brilliant that it is better to just vacuum than to wipe up chalk that gets on the floor because just a small amount of chalk left will show in the grain and in between boards. Not sure I would use this in a carpeted room.

I’ve used this a few times for metal valley, super bright easy to see and comes right off, a little too easy to come off tbh but it’s fine. Tested on a small bit of shingles and it easily rubs off which is good. Great chalk
