Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tyre: 700c x 32mm Reflex Wired. HS 348, 32-622, Performance Line, SmartGuard

After using a set of gatorskins and getting an average of around a puncture a month, I no longer care about riding over broken glass! The tyres do feel a bit stodgy, even when fully inflated, but they don't seem to hurt momentum too much so it doesn't bother me too much. The grip is pretty decent but don't turn to hard when going quickly - the back tyre loses grip a tiny bit easier than you might expect.

These tyres are very solid and relatively easy to fit, but I did follow a youtube guide and pushed the reflective strip well into the rim centre whilst using 2 old toe strap clip buckles to keep them there. No tyre levers required! ..as for durability a bit early to say but should hold up better than my last set of continentals, they were lighter but soon punctured on a coast to coast run. .

I currently have a MB that i ride over all terrains and surfaces on, last summer i started to ride longer distances on the road and wanted more speed so i was considering investing in a road bike or a hybrid (so i could continue mixing it up with the trails and roads), in the end i decided to buy 29" wheels and these tires as Schwalbe claim they're good over any surface. After a few weeks of being scared to death of the bike slipping away from underneath me, i found that they were better than the nobbly tires i had on before which had slipped away. I've now rode over every surface with these tires, including ice and snow and i'm amazed by them, (they'll ride in snow to a depth of about 6-7 inch) Even snow over mud they gripped to around 20% incline! Glass? Thorns? I don't even avoid anymore, i'm just reminded of a time long ago when i would have risked my life making sudden evasive maneuvers to steer round broken headlights and hedge cuttings on the side of the road, as i ride on, smiling

No more punctures once you have on.

I have had my tyres for over 2 years, doing about 100 miles a week. I dont think they are particularly puncture proof, as I have had several serious punctures, even though I always make sure I have the correct tyre pressure. I would reccomend the Marathon green label tyres, at half the price, as they seem to perform exactly the same in regards to punctures.

All round good tyre just a little bit awkward to fit.

Good bye to punctures great tyres just need a bit of patience in fitting so don't panic if struggle to get them on.
