Punches Well Above Its Weight - Recommended
I bought this excellent little portable speaker once and loved it so much I bought a second one. Which? consumer organisation research recommended it as one of their Best Buys and that's why I bought the first one, having assessed what I needed. Light and very portable - although I am not sure whether it might be easier at times to be able to hold it using a handle of some sort? Jury's out on that one, I'm waiting to see! So easy to get set up, charged up and linked to your phone. The sound quality is excellent and you download an app to your phone which enables you to tweak it so the bass is more prominent or less prominent, allowing you to focus more on a voice (whether singing or speaking - useful for devotees of an audiobook). One of the unexpected bonuses is that you can link a second speaker to the first one. In a smaller space (because the phone links to the speaker by bluetooth, so you can't have it too far away) you can have two speakers and either enjoy stereo in one room, or keep a speaker in different rooms and enjoy the sound throughout the entire (small) house, which is my preference when doing housework. This unexpected extra feature adds to the functionality of the speaker. For me, two of these speakers and my phone easily replace the sound systems I used to use. For a smaller home, I find this is ideal. It can still achieve an extremely loud volume but I like my neighbours so I haven't tested it to maximum. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Look out for some price variations, because this goes up and down with about £60 variance and it can make purchasing one of these incredible value for money. Highly recommended. Great sound quality. Long-lasting battery life. It looks well-made and sturdy. Easy to tuck away out of sight when you're not using this because it's so small (light enough to carry in one hand) but produces bigger and better sounds than you would expect.

Great sound × Subtle size
Honestly for a phone sized speaker, the sound quality is totally fantastic! Connects quickly and easily and for the quality and retro look, the value for money is phenomenal. Would definitely buy

Compact Powerhouse – Looks Cool, Sounds Even Better!
Right out of the box, this speaker impressed me with its iconic Marshall design, vintage vibes with modern toughness. It feels solid and premium, and looks like something you'd proudly display, not just stash away between uses. Now to the best part: the sound. The Emberton III punches way above its weight class. Crystal-clear mids and highs, with deep, rich bass that you can actually feel, not just hear. It fills a room with ease, and even outdoors it holds its own without sounding tinny or distorted. What really surprised me, though, was the battery life. I’ve taken it on a weekend trip and still didn’t need to charge it when I got home. Marshall claims up to 30 hours, and I believe it. Plus, USB-C fast charging is a welcome bonus. The controls are intuitive and tactile, and pairing was instant. I also appreciate the multi-directional control knob, it’s a nice retro meets modern touch that actually improves usability. If you're looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker that combines style, sound quality, and stamina, the Emberton III is a nobrainer. It's become my go-to for everything from chill evenings on the patio to impromptu road trips as its lightweight and portable.

For a speaker its size, it's a beast in disguise
First off, I am not an expert on audio equipment and what I'm about to say is purely my own but I try to be as objective as I can. First, the Emberton II looks sleek. I love the design and simplicity. The emblem is prominent against the all-black finish. The overall texture of the finish feels so good to the touch! I also like that they used red illumination for the battery level and the power indicator. It's subtle for those who have any issue for bright lights. It feels sturdy at less than 1 kg and at that weight, I was initially worried about the quality of the sound. Now for the main event: Sound quality. The first thing I did after unboxing was to immediately pair it with my phone (I haven't tried the app but connectivity seems to be no problem for me, using the standard bluetooth pairing). Now, when I test a speaker for the first time, I usually play the theme from Game of Thrones and the Imperial March from Star Wars (I have to hear the clarity of the instruments and enjoy the sound. And yes, I am a fan of those two franchise so sue me). Upon playing, the intro rumble from the Game of Thrones Theme was so clear that it gave me goosebumps! What impressed me was that, there was a definition between the instruments so there was no overpowering one from the other. Next thing I did was to crank up the volume.... Again I am not an expert on these matters but from what I experienced and HEARD, this tiny speaker can really deliver! The same clarity can be heard even at max volume (using my phone as source via bluetooth). Unlike my previous purchases (in fairness, they are smaller and forgivable) where they sound like an empty can, this beast can really deliver even at maximum volume (my apologies to my neighbors downstairs!). I switched to The Imperial March and did the same routine again. What a joy! It delivered the same results that almost made me use to Force! I also played other songs (j-rock, R & B, Old School Rock, Old School Rap) and I was really satisfied. One other thing that I noticed was that the vocals are so clear and prominent, it feels as if I'm using a 3.1 channel audio equipment. My only issue is that it has no 3.5 mm audio socket (I'm an old school) but I believe I can use the USB-C port for that (I have to purchase a separate adapter for it though). Based on the others' opinion, it is possible to plug a 3.5 mm jack. I have yet to try it. Overall, I am happy. I am satisfied. I will not make any recommendations since each and every individual has specific tastes in sound quality but I will say this.. Include this in your list of potential candidates when you are shopping for a portable speaker and give it a shot. All I can say, personally, is that the Marshall Emberton II really exceeded my personal expectations and it was worth every cent that I poured into. Similarly to when I bought my first Marshall (Major IV), I can say I am glued to Marshall for my audio needs and I do not see myself looking at other brands at the moment. That's how satisfied I am.

Good, but.............
After reading several reviews, i decided to take a punt on this. First off, i have to say that we dont all hear things the same, plus, i know im not a fan of excessive bass sound. So, with that in mind, make of this what you will. First off it looks great and is very simple to use. But of course youd expect a marshall product to look good, but, its the sound that matters. And in this case i would say this: the sound is good, but i was (foolishly?) expecting better. The sound is slightly muddy, ie: not crystal clear and i say this comparing it to much cheaper and similar price products. In other words, though not expensive in comparison to many others, i wouldnt call it cheap, but then my money is hard earnt. I would say the sound overall is 4 out of 5. The item is pleasantly heavy for its size (that always suggests good to me) and is very solid. The volume is pretty awesome, for its size its loud!!! So it looks and feels the part and is certainly acceptable. Of course the import sound has to be good too, so thats a factor. I havent tried the stacking feature, so i cant comment on that. Battery life appears very good and connection to my devices was very quick and easy. So overall, i would say close, but not touching (for me anyway).

Marshall matters
I’d like to start by stating I’m no audiophile I’d hate to mislead anyone into thinking I’m some expert musical genius. I’ve always gone for Bose have a Bose tv speaker, but wanted a portable Bluetooth speaker was going to get the bose SoundLink 2. But I happened upon the Marshall Emberton 2 and loved the look of it. Did my usual strolling through reviews; and bang in my basket and set for delivery on the same day. 1/aesthetics I love the look of it, it’s small and compact might not be the lighter portable speaker (but it’s far from heavy) (it even plays a rocking sound as you turn it on or off) it definitely looks premium rather than a cheap looking pound shop speaker. I’d buy it just for the looks (sorry I know I am rather shallow) 2/sound I liked the sound, of course not going to be perfect for parties. But if you’re looking for a portable speaker more likely it’s gonna be to move around with. But I think the sound is excellent; (sadly the app doesn’t have much EQ’s on it just 3) but the out of the box default is nice enough. Crisp. Now I don’t listen to all that hippity hop so can’t tell you if it brings anything to that genre. But I am very pleased with it. 3/price Ok so it is £149 (at the time of writing this) there Are obviously cheaper speakers out there, but if you have the cash I would definitely delve into the pocket, with all things in life some will love this and some won’t. 4/battery This is again another plus point boasting 30 hours which should be appealing to most people out there (even the crazies that stroll through London with a portable speaker blaring out terrible music just to ruin my day) Overall opinion I’m not going to sit here and say you should buy this insead of a Bose or sono or JBL or Sony. But I love this speaker; I think it’s a lovely looking speaker; that just enthuses class. The sound quality is excellent and a good battery life. In closing If you have listened to me and purchased one well done and enjoy. If you haven’t well enjoy your [chosen speaker] and hopefully you won’t live to regret it 😀
