This is an excellent product and I 100% recommend it. Before this I’ve had three humidifiers Chinese made ultrasonic cool mist types - I had taotronics, and a couple of unknown names that I bought off Amazon. They were all garbage. Taotronics 4 liter one started leaking water in puddles all over the floor. It was very hard to clean. The other two were 2 liter globe shaped ones - impossible to clean and needed water custom filters. The other thing - they needed frequent refills and cleaning. The worst part - they didn’t humidify. The cool mist technology is basically a failure as it does not distribute moisture over the room. There is no fan to throw the moisture into the air. I decided to go with a known standard home appliance brand instead of junk sellers on Amazon. I just finished replacing the wicking filter for the first time and giving them a clean (I bought 2). Firstly they are very efficient at humidifiying. I have a SensorPush temperature and humidity gauge in all my rooms and looking at the data, it’s clear that these really drive humidity up but I’ll be clear - the humidity level displayed on the LED display of the machine and the overall room humidity won’t match. If the room is at 15%, your humidifier might say 25%. If you set it to reach 50% , the room will end up around 32%. This is way better than the stupid cool mist junk - which never managed to push the room humidity up more than 5% points. Secondly, they are very easy to clean. The base where water rests is completely accessible. The water tank is completely accessible. I also dropped a protec cleaning ball into the tank which prevents any algal / bacteria growth. Lastly, yes it’s noisier than a cool mist because it has a fan that actually distributes the moisture. But the noise is basically like a white noise which doesn’t interfere or disturb at all. In fact it works well if you need white noise for children in a room.

Update 2-24: I still love the humidifier but wanted to mention that I took some advice to flip the filter from top to bottom each time you fill it, and frankly I think that is a bad idea because it degrades the filter in the process. It went from working great to not working well at all because when you open the thing up and turn the filter it compresses it somewhat and then it leaves spaces....so from now on I will just leave the filter as is, and replace it as needed. If they wanted you to flip the filter each time they should make the thing you put it in and out of the same on the top and the bottom so you would not have to remove it from the holder. So I had to run out yesterday to buy a new filter after only 9 days. If this is typical then it's ridiculous. Plus I bought one from target for $10 which is the lowest price available. And $10 for a paper filter that probably costs $1 to make is ridiculous. I am going to look into if I can buy some of the cut to size filter materials out there and come back here to let you know if that works. What someone needs to come up with is a cloth wicking filter sponge thing that you can put in the washer and wash and then re-use it. If someone could do that, they would be rich! I love this humidifier. I had been watching it for awhile wanting one but waiting for the price to come down a bit. I ended up getting it for around $69 and for the price this thing is great. I really did not look at the size and was suprised that it was bigger than what I was expecting. Mine holds nearly 2 gallons when I fill it from dry. I love carrying the water and pouring it in rather than having to remove the reservoir each time. Also some people said it leaked so honestly I think once it's seated properly just best to leave it there. I have it upstairs in the master bedroom which is pretty big, and it's doing a great job compared to the smaller one I had in there. It completely takes care of the moisture in the room and is now perfect where before I was running two smaller humidifiers to get the job done. I have not had to change the filter yet but I love how easy this one is to change. I do not have to take the whole thing apart to change the filter. Just slide the filter out from the back and put a new one in and slide it back in. One of the best things is how quiet this is. Even on high it's manageable and puts out a lot of moisture. We have it set on medium and it does the job and we can hardly hear it. I love that you can set the humidity level. We just keep it set to high otherwise its turning on and off constantly. The humidity is always going to register higher right by the unit so for us High works best. I think it also has some sort of timer which I am sure would be nice for some people but we leave ours on. The set up was super easy and sort of self explanatory. I did remove the little plastic thing from the top of the tank that you pour water through. I found it just causes splashing when filling and could not see the value of keeping it in place. Another nice thing is the small footprint. This could probably keep a small apartment comfortable, or down to a smaller room. Using the settings it really could be great in a variety of sized spaces. On medium I fill it once a day if things are super dry. The water lasts longer if there is natural moisture in the air. I think we will get one ore more of these to replace some older humidifiers, I just love it so much! Thanks for reading my review Becky Brooks

This model is superior to the old one that did not have Top-Fill option. It's a completely new design. The placement of the wick and fan are different, and it is more efficient. The fan blows upwards not forward like the old model, so the moist air goes upward and can dissipate into the room, not down at the floor. Besides that, it has more detailed controls and the fan motor is quieter than the previous model. On the low speed it is whisper quiet. In 24 hours, it dissipates one full gallon of water on the lowest fan speed.

Easy to setup. Works great to raise the humidity in my home Item was all packaged and received on time.

I can’t believe how quiet it is It is very easy to fill and use. It’s early to tell yet if it is going to help my hair, but since the air is now quite moist, I’m sure it will help my hair and skin and nails, etc..

Works great in my humidifier!

I am having less headaches since I purchase this humidifier....It is easy to clean and is not noisy when I am running it on low. I like the automatic shut off when it reaches the desired humidity level. I only gave it four stars because I am not sure if the hygrometer on the machine gives out the actual accurate humidity. I purchase separate ones (as recommended) but returned them as they were too hard to calibrate using the salt test. I just set the machine on what I feel to be comfortable in the room and I have no issues. I intend to use it for winter months only. Sturdy machine and sleek looking. Does not take up a lot of space on my floor, shuts off when it is supposed to.

Faulty valve at the bottom broke after one year leaked all over the floor. Also hard to sanitize the base. Do not recommend.
