Our Sat Nav at 8 years old had become out of date so we replaced it with a good spec model with traffic, speed cameras etc but with so much information on the new one although the screen was larger than the old one, mounting on the windscreen was just too far away for proper viewing. We looked at all the various options for bringing it forward and also did not want any form of sticky pad to adhere to the dashboard so decided on the friction beanbag, with the view that it had not cost a lot if it was not satisfactory. Three days after receipt we did 700 miles on a 2 week holiday and it proved to be perfect for the job and delighted with it. It does measure 20cm in diameter (7.75") so you do need to make sure you have the room for it to fit, but it does not have to be on a flat surface as the underside is anti-slip and never moves with the car motion. The standard Sat Nav windscreen mounting is used to fasten the Sat Nav to the friction mounting just by twisting it round on it's ball sockets. To sum it up, excellent and of course no suction marks on the windscreen.

It sits nicely on the dashboard of our car so that our Sat Nav is positioned in the correct place to use it. It’s easy to use and the suction pad ensures that it doesn’t move. Overall this product does the job it’s intended for and is good value for money.

Having read many reports that thieves look for the tell-tale mark left on windscreens by the mountings supplied with most Sat Navs, I looked for a suitable alternative. A colleague recommended trying a Sat Nav bean bag. So for the price (about £10) I thought that it was worth a try. No regrets! The bean bag is fairly weighty and has a non-slip finish on the bottom, so it is very stable on your dashboard. The smooth central part takes the Sat Nav mount really well. The only down side is that if your dashboard is very contoured, like mine, the size of the bean-bag (about 150mm) may restrict where you can suitably locate it. However, overall well worth buying.

Very fiddly to fit a garmin euro satnav into this, and it doesn’t stick that well. We got this as we have a sloping front to our vehicle and thought this would secure the sat nav. It’s actually very hard to get the nav at the right angle as the beaded bits are completely rigid and clamping it to the thing is a pain, fiddly with good hands and almost impossible if you have joint problems. Personally can not recommend. It should be good, but isn’t very.

I find this product works so much better for positioning of the satnav and not having it up on the front windscreen means better visibility. It's sturdy and easy to use. It fits perfectly on the small ledge under the windscreen of my car so I use it there all the time. I would definitely recommend.

Not fit for purpose. does not hold the TomTom securely. Cannot take the weight.
