Great item good disc good music from first track to last one players top notch made up with it

With the wonderful and unique voice of Karen Carpenter along with the beautiful arrangements by her brother Richard make this one of the classiest collections of pure 70' pop perfection. 'Goodbye To Love' 'Yesterday Once More' 'Close To You' are just some of the highlights of the Carpenters career. I l also love 'This Masquerade' as it is like velvet to your ears. Another classic track is I know I Need To Be On Love' ...... beautiful lyrics and melody. Don't know why I am in the midst of a 70's nostalgic journey at the moment. In fact I have just ordered almost their entire back catalogue. The albums 'A Song For You' and 'Yesterday Once More' along with 'Gold' have been on my system all over the weekend. The musical magic created by The Carpenters' 'ABBA' & of course 'The Beatles' will never be forgotten and is greatly missed in todays charts. Great music will live forever. Karen sadly missed by all her long life fans. Love and respect to you and Richard. Phil

Love it!

It's been so many years since I last heard any of the tracks on this album, the first track bringing a tear to my eye! The production alone on this excellent album is worth buying if only for the production alone which is absolutely superb!! All or most of the tracks bring back so many good memories to me too, I'm just glad I was around when these tracks were first released, way back in the day! So to music lovers anywhere if you wish to hear what I believe is fantastic music? this album is a must for anyone's collection!

Everything fine

Includes many classics and a few make-weights. You forget just how rich Karen Carpenter's voice was - and her range too. Coupled with sumptuous seventies analogue recording and meticulous production, you won't be disappointed. This will contribute towards an easy listening playlist, along with other great songwriters and artists...Bacharach, Williams, Sinatra, Nat King Cole et al. Sadly, they don't make them like that any more.

There are some people that would be embarrassed to even say they even " liked " The Carpenters, BUT here's one for you... The late John Lennon has been quoted as saying: " That girl Karen Carpenter has the greatest female voice anywhere, pitch and tone perfect " So there you go. I have met people who " like " or " love " or actually " hate " the duo-group. Oh well, it's for sure A&M Records loved them, as did some of the 102 million folks who bought their products. For the money, it's a good compilation ( from A&M )

eine ganz tolle CD mit 20 der größten und beliebtesten Titeln der Carpenters. Die Songs sind melodisch, besinnlich und genau das richtige zum Entspannen. Das unvergessene Geschwister-Duo ist musikalisch unsterblich und eines der besten der 70er Jahre. Natürlich kann man nicht alle Titel auf einer CD vereinen, aber diese Auswahl ist genau richtig und für jeden Fan ein Treffer. Volle 5 Sterne verdient die CD auf jeden Fall.
