It's easy to put together and might feel a little flimsy when it's not completely finished, but once everythings in place it's great. We just used some zip ties to keep the top in place seen as it's actually designed to float and my snake absolutely loves it so I'd like to think turtles will too😁 Review: Small turtles only need apply - This dock is suitable for small turtles only despite the basking area size. I have a 4 year old yellow bellied slider and this item is no good for her. She tipped the whole thing over, submerged it, moved it to the other end of the tank and dismantled it within a few hours. The suction cups on the bottom of the posts are very flimsy, and the ramp isn't sturdy. However a few years ago when my turtle was little and light this would have been ideal. So not criticising the product, it just needs to be made clear that this is for very small turtles only.

My pet loves it!

Not suitable for large heavy turtles
The pier looked good but one of our turtles is quite large so the small ramp does not hold her weight and she can't get on the pier

Success at last!
I have tried, and failed, numerous times to find a basking dock to suit my two Yellow Belly Sliders (in separate tanks, so double the failure rate!). This was a shot in the dark, fairly expensive and only ok reviews, but I had to give this a go. I ordered two, and they arrived very quickly. Assembled very easily and popped them in the tanks. I haven't suckered them to the bottom yet as I'd only just cleaned the tanks so didn't feel inclined to drain them and remove the sand - the sand wouldn't stay out of the way long enough for me to stick the suckers! Instead I've sort of wedged the docks into place with rocks. Apart from the little ramps popping off every now and then (easy to replace), my turts are loving their basking piers. It's a relief to see them basking properly again :-)
