I would like to gain weight? Does this help?

Not being a medical person I would not like to mislead. However, these drinks are largely given to the infirm or elderly people who have lost their appetite or cannot swallow/digest much in the way of solid food. Fortisip provides a nutritional easy to drink milk shake-type drink containing many vitamins and minerals. Perhaps you would be best asking your GP about your wish to gain weight as I am sure they will be able to advise you on the best way forward.

what flavors are in the starter kit

If my memory serves me correctly (I used to buy these for an elderly neighbour, sadly no longer with us) there was a 1 strawberry, 1 raspberry, 1 chocolate, 1 banana, 1 vanilla and a repeat of one of the aforementioned so you may, for instance get 2 banana in one pack and perhaps 2 vanilla in another and so on. I hope this helps. I know my neighbour thoroughly enjoyed these when she no longer had much of an appetite or the inclination to eat solid food.

Is this the same fortisip that the gp prescribes or a soundalike fortisip?thanks

Yes but it’s a consentrared one either is good and it’s what the gp or dieticians prescribe

Is it suitable for vegetarians

According to the maker's web-site (Nutricia) Fortisip is suitable for Vegetarians. The only ingredient used that may possibly offend a vegetarian is the use, in some of the Nutricia products, of Carminic Acid (a derivative of cochineal and obtained from insects). However the Vegetarian Society has apparently stated that Fortisip is suitable for Vegetarians. I hope this is of some help to you.

these taste, much more palatable when cold, personally I don't like them room, temperature or warm. Much much cheaper to get as a prescription from the doctor if you can. however, don't let that stop you using them. They really have helped me with my dietary problems.
