Same as ever - but better!
I love Monopoly but it is impossible to get people to play it. I get groans whenever I go anywhere near the red box. It is therefore weird that if you make the board round and add an electronic gizmo my kids can't get enough of Monopoly, we have play literally every day since the game arrived. It really is just the old game with a few twists (which I'll highlight). The game is for up to 6 players. You can play with 2 but it doesn't work as well, especially when you start auctioning property. You start off with £15M (I'll use £ for this review although it is actually an M symbol in the game) on credit cards rather than holding cash. This has some advantages and disadvantages. Firstly it removes the need to mentally work out amounts. But you lose track of who has what so the banker needs to call out remaining balances, and also the banker spends A LOT of time transferring money, all of which is done on the electronic device. Also, if the batteries run out you lose the balances - cue disputes as you try to work out who had what (believe me, this happened to us as we didn't use fresh batteries - in these time it is annoying to find out "Batteries Not Included" - you need 3 x AAA, I recommend the Amazon Basics range where you get 20 for about £4). All the regular London properties are on the board plus an additional 2 utilities. This adds to the game as the utilities then become more useful. There are also 4 chance spaces where you either allocate a Chance to an area on the board (there are 4 zones) and it goes to everyone on it, or you can instead auction the next free property. Also the electronic gizmo randomly fires out Chance instructions to the last person who put their card in the slot, which gives an added bit of excitement (seriously though you get £0.5M for saving a cow!). Beware - the sound effects are very realistic, the dog barking sends my dogs crazy! The game feels a whole more free flowing than the old game, but tactics are the same - get a set and build on it! Not much more to add than that, it really is a nicely polished version of the old favourite. All in all I really love playing this, getting a 15 year old girl and 10 year old boy to play with their old dad takes some doing so this is appreciated. Highly recommended.

Missing Board
The monopoly was missing its most important element upon arrival: the board!

Great Version
Great new version of the game - my son loves monopoly and we have several versions, this adds something new with the random chance popping up! Also MUCH easier to keep track of money and less easy to cheat... Would thoroughly reccomend if you like monopoly.

a good game
I bought this for my daughter, she loved the original monopoly and wanted to give it a go,she loves it and played it all of the time but the only thing is that the sound is quite loud but the good thing is you can turn it up or down so thats good. if you wanted to teach your child to count it's not the best because you are using cards and it does it for you.

Monopoly Revolution
It's Christmas and time for board games so as my family had thrown out our old classic monopoly (much to my annoyance) I decided to buy a new Monopoly for this year. I was tempted by classic again but Revolution looked interesting with its neat board and credit card system. I have been very impressed by the look and feel of everything. It's much more compact than the old monopoly but is very stylish with opaque plastic pieces. The credit card system is interesting but not as fun as handling money. The cheesy tunes are fun at first but get annoying after a while and I worry that if the machine breaks in a few years it'll be a pain to get a new one and the game isn't very playable without it. I like the extra properties over the classic with fewer Chance spots but I have to admit the change in value is really confusing when you are used to the classic game (everything has gone up by a factor of 10,000). In general a good game to buy if you haven't had Monopoly before but not really a replacement for Classic as it's a different game.

Great family fun
My son wanted to buy monopoly revolution with some of his Birthday money. Having two children one being 9 and the other one 6 they love this game. The sound effects have my little boy dancing and laughing. Although it's not as educational as the original having electronic banking it's still great for hours of endless fun.

If it ain't broke don't fix it!
A mate bought this recently and had a bunch of us round for a game on the weekend. I'm a big fan of monopoly but this version is a waste of timr. The card machine is awful. It bsically means one person has to spend the entire game constantly punching numbers into it, and the game slows down massively as a result. The zones add nothing, the snippets of music you have to repeatedly endure are a pain, and you have to ask how much money you've got! getting rid of the cash was real mistake, so don't bother with this. stick with the original!

I am really disappointed I payed a lot of money for the monopoly only to get pieces missing and the screen on the round bank thing is all scratched up and not just little scratches almost like someone took a knife to it when I opened it it was dirty in the inside obviously it is not new and was used before but that doesn’t bother me as much as the scratched screen and the missing pieces game looks good but I’m disappointed in my purchase there were other adds up with cheaper ones and I decided to take this one because of the reviews and it costed more so I assumed it was better but I was wrong

The Game came just in time,, I always loved monopoly the classic one,, this new one is really a revolution. The clean and sleek cards and houses and hotels makes the game experience wonderful. What I like most is the changes in the chance that you can have a random chance while removing you card from the machine,, It rings and reads a chance, this chance get effective on that player immediately. So all of the players when we hear that sound we put out faces directly over the machine to read what will it say. everyone very excited and worried from the result. The improvements in the game play are good to the fun side of the game. The only thing i don't like in it is the auction button as it counts down and the last bidder wins, so its very lame,, but I avoided using it. Making the auctions the old way we are used to; the higher bidder wins and no time constrains. OVERALL: Great game,, good value for money,, More than expectation.

I understand the desire to refresh the experience of playing this iconic game, I took the bait...but is doesn't work for a couple of reasons: - the debit card system actually slows down game-play and is far too cumbersome (especially when paying rent to other players) - the round board gets very crowded, especially when more than one player is sitting on a property with houses - the game pieces are too big, not attractive and tip over too easy The 'paperless' idea has traction and appeal but in this execution it falls flat. The new game play styles/rules are nice but they can be printed off the internet and used on a standard board. I purchased this 2 years ago and have not played since the first weekend, that should say it all.

If you are the older kid in the fam and are trying to get your monopoly tradition going, you are forced to be the banker which could get hectic! This is the best product because it has the electronic banking! Every other electronic banking monopolies that I've tried, are for up to 4 people, but this one can be played with up to 6 players. It came really quickly which is awesome! Thanks for that (y)

Take your standard Monopoly board game and mash it into a circular game board. Then every property either gets purchased or auctioned off. So it takes 4-6 hours to play the game instead of 8. In addition they've added two more spaces to the utilities group. Free Parking is gone. One of the greatest features in it is the Electronic Banking Machine. It has all the chance and community chest cards built into the machine. And better yet, it randomizes good and back luck cards. Its hard to describe, but randomly buying and selling properties the machine will give you a free chance card and display it on the machine. It's actually really cool. It was great playing this game over Christmas, and I would highly recommend this to any fan of Monopoly.
