I picked up the Gerber Gear Suspension-NXT EDC Multitool because I wanted a reliable, compact multitool to carry for camping, small repairs, and general everyday use. Overall, I think it’s a good tool for the price, but it does have a couple of drawbacks worth mentioning. Performance: For the most part, all the tools work well. The needle nose pliers have come in handy many times and the wire stripper does a decent job for quick fixes. The knife blade is sharp enough for light cutting tasks and the screwdrivers are fine for small household jobs. Build Quality: While it gets the job done, the multitool feels a bit flimsy compared to some heavier-duty multitools I’ve used in the past. If you’re planning to use it for light-duty tasks or emergencies, it’s fine — but I wouldn’t trust it for very demanding jobs. Ergonomics: One thing that could be improved is the comfort and grip. Some of the edges feel a bit sharp when you’re squeezing the pliers tightly, and overall it could be more ergonomic for extended use. Portability: It’s slim, lightweight, and clips easily onto a pocket or bag, which makes it really convenient to carry. For EDC or as a backup tool, it’s very handy to have around. Overall: If you want an affordable multitool for everyday situations, camping trips, or to keep in a glove box, this is a solid choice. Just keep in mind that it’s best suited for lighter tasks — and a more robust model might be better if you need something heavy-duty and more comfortable to use for longer periods. Minimal tools, medium size, but the blade doesn't hold an edge very long. A couple of uses and back to the sharpener.
