Victorinox quality in multitool format
As usual,Victorinox quality shines through. I also own a Leatherman 830685 Charge TTi (directly competing model) which is a beast of a multitool but the Victorinox Swiss Tool X, for me, is in a different league. Both come with a pouch as they are both quite heavy and not really for carrying in pockets. Points in favor of the Victorinox Swiss Tool X: - Build quality is superior to the Leatherman. No scraping when opening blades, no sharp or rough edges where there shouldn't be. - Feels more comfortable in the hand when applying a lot of force. - Lower carbon steel means that the components are less likely to snap if used incorrectly. Also less likely to rust. Points in favor of the Leatherman 830685 Charge TTi: - Has a bit driver and comes with a few popular sized bits. (Victorinox has a fixed Phillips and flat head screwdriver) - High carbon steel means it will keep an edge longer than stainless steel but will need to be kept dry and clean to avoid corrosion. - One-handed blade opening Personally I prefer the Victorinox, but it depends on what you want the tool for and how you'll be using it. Neither are street legal in the UK due to the blade locking mechanisms used in both. If you are carrying this in public make sure you have a legitimate reason.

Another well made tool from Victorinox.
After looking at many different multi tools from many other brands, I decided on this based on having had Swiss Army knives by victorinox for 35 years and have always found them to be well made and reliable and this is no disappointment. It’s well made, heavy duty, has all the tools I need for everyday tasks and comes in a nice pouch with a belt loop. The main blade is very sharp and the wood saw is good enough to easily saw through 4 inch branches. The pliers are good enough to pull threaded screws from doors and tightening small and medium bolts etc. There are lots of really good multi tools to choose from but if you want a reliable, quality tool that looks very nice at the same time, this is it.

The best multitool bar none.
I've used these for years. The only reason I've had more than one is because I occasionally lose them which is very annoying. I work in the events industry and am also a Scout leader. This tool has lived on my belt pretty much every waking hour since I bought my first one which must be getting on for 20 years ago. I tried all the other big makes and frankly none even come close to this. The steel is of excellent quality, the tool is very strong, it's comfortable to hold, easy to deploy and every single function in it is both useful and fit for purpose. Worth every penny.

Brilliant piece of kit
I wanted a pocket knife for little jobs around the house and to take when on holiday and I was really torn between a traditional swiss army knife and this one. I eventually went for this because of the extra tools it offers and sacrificed the portability of the others. I'm so glad I did as this is a brilliant tool and gets used almost daily for little jobs saving me the need to dig the tool box out the cupboard. It is solidly built and all the various tools are strong (and sharp!) and the little leather case it comes in is well made and looks smart. I would say that it is quite heavy and I wouldn't wear it on my belt unless I really needed to but that is a sign of the quality construction and materials used. Overall I can't recommend it enough.

Good but not great.
This is a good multitool but not a great one. There is nothing specific but it is just that for me each tool/part is just a little bit short of great, except the scissors. The pliers are a little short and stiff. The shape is not ergonomic and so on. It seems that they spent more time on the quality of the materials used rather than the usability of the tool/parts. Compared to other multitool manufacturers they are adapting great pen knives to multitool rather than being just focused on the multitool. So, I would say that I am glad I bought it but would not buy another, it is better to buy a tool designed from scratch rather than one "adapted" to compete in a market that is already full of "better" multi-tools.

It's a BEAST!
Just opened it and am so impressed with the quality. Blades are sharp. The tool feels excellent.

Everything you need. 2018 (2 year update)
As am owner of many types of knifes I have to say that this was money well spent. I brought this near Christmas and made sure I left it a few months worth for camping trips and general uses before reviewing. Basically it's the best knife I own and I literally use it for opening or cutting anything. It has everything your probably need or what out of a multitool. 2018 update. Still going strong. The blade is a little soft so it does role the edge easy. But it also sharpens quickly. Use this multitool a lot. Pretty much am EDC item
