Simple, small, great sound quality
I'd purchased a reasonably priced mid-range laptop from Acer - I couldn't justify the cost of a MacBook Pro anymore. Something I wasn't expecting is how poor the sound is (it's and Acer Swift 16, great OLED display as a sidenote ). The Apple MBPs babe decent DACs so you can just plug in headphones and you're good to go, but this Acer is tiny, lifeless and low on volume. Fine for very casual listening but if you're someone used to half decent headphones (Sony MDR-7506, nothing crazy expensive) you'll appreciate the upgrade. There's 2 buttons, the first cycles through the EQ, which is essentially 4 offerings. Off, Game, Video and Music. Really this is highs, mids and lowend boosts. I leave it on music as that's what I prefer. There's a power match button, if you're using in ear monitors or low Ohm headphones that may be enough, easy to play with though. Turning the volume right down turns it off. I've had it for 6 months now and really enjoy it. If you're someone who likes to apply a lot of extra bass, you'll either want to look for something with more EQ controls or use software. I think for most people the subtle EQ options will suit. For the technical side, it supports 32 bit, 384000 Hz. And Hi- Res Audio certified, so if you're using services such as Qobuz or Tidal, you're able to crank the settings. But don't worry, it's an improvement for any source for me. If you're using Windows you will have to change this as the default for the decide is 16bit

Still working after two years.
I have been using this with two devices. My beyerdynamic dt770 pro and an old Sony HiFi setup. This will adequately power 80ohm headphones when paired with your phone and a USB c cable. It also allows me to connect my phone to a Sony HiFi system that is probably older than me. My phone connects to it via USB c and I can connect to the system either by aux or with RCA as both are supported by the amp. the volume knob is fine adjustable and feels very nice to the touch. When playing music on my phone there is a colour coded light that denotes the quality of music file being played which is a nice touch. The equalizer settings are nice to have although I tend to leave it off. The build quality seems to be pretty good. It has survived multiple drops from a tall shelf with no discernable loss of sound quality. I would say for the price, this will be a good option for anyone looking to get the best out of their headphones or basic sound system and is in my opinion good value for money

Great little unit!
Picked this up for a more 'premium' audio solution for my gaming and movies etc on the PC, using it with a set of Audio Technica M50x, and frankly, this is an absolute audio sweet spot for me.. £210 spent, and everything sounds outstanding. Can't fault it at all. Though will say pick up a decent usb-c cable for it.. I grabbed an Anker usb-c to usb-c cable.. The included one is pretty cheap and I actually found my unit had power issues UNTIL I swapped the cable out. Only reason they weren't 5 stars tbh.

Tiny and good
Tiny device but very clever sticky pads stop it moving on desk Good sound on the warm side and drive’s difficult headphones very well Works with apple with no problems not far off the quality of my Adi 2 dac fs

Great Amp but poor drivers
Great build quality and compact size. Sound quality and built in equalizer were great too! Sadly theres a software issue that made it so the thing would turn off if no audio was playing. So everytime music stopped or started there would be a popping sound that cut the audio. Very annoying everytime you pause a video or song. Until thats fixed I would wait.

Music to my ears
I have been looking into upgrading my music for a while and I came across iFi’s uno. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money to begin with, so once reading about it, it felt like the right choice. I was right! This small device is perfect for me! Due to the size, you can barely notice it on my desk and my music really has had an upgrade. I’m not the best at describing how the sound has changed but everything seems more punchier, has more clarity and just overall better. I like the different settings it has; I haven’t tried out the gaming one as I don’t play games on my PC, but the music and movies one has been awesome. It’s been the missing piece that I’ve needed for so long, I’m addicted.

Sounds great and at the right price
For anyone who hasn't owned anything from Ifi Audio, the quality of the product alone (especially at this price point) is amazing, both build and audio. I bought this when it came out at £79 and wondered why it wasn't twice the price. It's very dinky and is powered by the USB input on the rear. Mine was connected to my iMac and then from the RCA outputs on the Uno to external active speakers. The difference in sound is incredible and the Uno also has 3 different audio presets for music, movie and games though I only ever used it on Music. Where it really shines is when you listen to a High Res Audio source (Qobuz for me) – that's when this little beauty really sings. An absolute cracker.

Sounds amazing with a few rough edges
It sounds amazing with my Shure SE215 IEMs, the sound is very transparent. However, there are some rough edges: - Volume control in windows does not work, although it does work on Android - Loud clicking sound when switching between EQ modes - Driver software is unsigned, gives a windows security warning. Clearly iFI is a hardware company and not a software company, it would not cost much to get a digital certificate and to sign their driver software. - It uses between 0.8W and 1.5W, which drains a smartphone battery quickly. Even when not in use it draws 0.8W, so this is clearly designed for use with a laptop and not so much with a smartphone or tablet. - Clearly audible background hiss in movie mode

Perfect! I connected my iMac (using Tidal Streaming) to this DAC then to Yamaha Aventage A4A thru Audioquest RCA jacks. The result is detailed and high clarity music. My speakers are Cambridge Audio and SVS SB1000 Pro sub. This DAC is small and not a distraction, you can even hide it.

Got this as soon as I read the first few reviews. This is IFi's most affordable product (barring accessories). To be honest, I wasn't expecting much, just expecting the honest to goodness Ifi signature sound. I was not disappointed. Plugged my Sony Xba Z5 and various chi-fi items, sound was clean, smooth and there was plentiful reserve of power. Noise floor was in audible and seperation was clean. Moved to my headphones across various makes and models from AKG K371, Beyer DT770 and 880 80ohms, Sennheiser HD599, 6XX, HD25 and 800S, I was reasonably pleased. Even for the 800S, there was some headroom left if I need more boost to my listening levels. It's just adequate but you know it's not a good match. The various eq mode worked fine, each providing a very mild boost on the lows, mids and highs for games, movies and music respectively. Interesting but I would same the mainstream users who have a hard time appreciate the insignificant boost. For me, it's only music only that kinda works but I probably use it less than half the time. Still, for the price Ifi is asking, it's really a no brainer buy.

I’ve been using the iFi Uno with my Surface Laptop 7, connected to a pair of Bose S1 Pro speakers through a 3.5mm to dual 1/4" cable. Setup was instant — USB-C from the laptop to the Uno, then line-out to the speakers. No drivers, no fuss, just clean signal right out of the box. Sound quality is noticeably better than the built-in audio jack. Noise floor is lower, especially with the Bose S1s. No hum, no hiss, no interference, even when the laptop’s charging. The detail in mids and highs really opened up. Bass is tighter too, not muddy like you'd get from a cheap DAC. Build is solid. Aluminum shell, no rattles, knobs feel smooth and precise. Doesn’t take up much space on the desk and doesn’t get hot during extended use. EQ presets are a nice touch, though I keep it on neutral for most listening. The gain switch is useful if you're using higher-impedance headphones or just want a little more punch when driving larger speakers. I’ve tested a few DACs in this price range and the Uno holds its own. For a simple, high-quality desktop audio setup — especially if you're running powered speakers like the Bose S1 Pro — it's one of the best options out there. Highly recommended if you're looking to level up your laptop audio without breaking the bank.
