Carhartt Unisex East West

I wasn't entirely sure I was going to like this bag when I purchased it. But it arrived today, and wow. I'm really impressed, and more so than I expected to be. It is huge, for starters, and I love the interior pockets. One will fit my iPad or my laptop perfectly, and has a Velcro closure. There is a ton of room inside, and is perfect for travel, which is why I purchased it in the first place. I needed something to hold on the basics that wouldn't fit in my carry on suitcase that I wanted with me when I travel. I am a writer, so work goes with me wherever I go. That means my laptop, iPad, Kindle, a regular book, notebooks for notes, and more. This bag is perfect. This bag is so great, The two exterior pockets are also great for water bottles, and my Hydro Flask fits perfectly in it. I'll be purchasing it for several family members that are teachers as well, so they have something that is a good size and durable to use when going to work. I would definitely recommend this bag.

This is a perfect teacher bag! It’s large enough to hold my computer, binder, lunch, and purse. It’s not too big though. The small inside pockets hold my phone and pens. The two outside pockets fit my water bottle and coffee cup. It’s sturdy and functional. After 20+ years of teaching and countless bags that didn’t quite fit the bill, this one is a keeper.

First of all, the bag is SPACIOUS. As you can see in the photo, I can fit my 40 oz water bottle and my coffee thermos in the drink handles. Inside, I have my laptop, two notebooks, a toiletries bag with feminine products, a pretty large makeup bag, an electronics bag, keys, snacks and miscellaneous items. The durable material makes me feel like this bag will last a very long time. I was debating on whether I was going to get the Marc Jacob’s tote but I’m glad I went with this one. When it’s open, I can throw my lunch bag in too. Great for people who have to lug around a lot of stuff and don’t want to make multiple trips or hold multiple bags. I only wish the laptop/tablet insert would be thicker and more durable than a thin cloth.

I work hybrid and no longer have my own desk. One day a week I have to take everything I may need to and from the office. I was tired of carrying 2-3 bags plus my purse. Or, just one bag, my purse, and an arm load of stuff. Look at what fits in this thing! That’s a 3XL hoodie! I still have room to add an umbrella, my lunch/snacks. I was deciding between this Carhartt (I got mine on sale, $49) and The Tote Bag by Marc Jacobs ($215). This Carhartt is 16.5 x 7 x 13.5 The Tote Bag is 17 x 6 x 13 The 1” bottom width and 1/2” height more than makes up for the 1/2” less in width. I even like the earthy color which is more of an Army brown than it appears in the listing of my pictures. It doesn’t have that much orange color in it. I bought a girlie scarf on Amazon for $8 to help dress it up a little. It’s got a nice strap drop for my shoulder, but nice and sturdy straps that I can hold it and carry it comfortably in one hand. My problem now is making it to heavy packing crap I really don’t need. But for the price, the convenience, the durability, it’s comfortable, it’s cute, and now I only carry one bag… it’s well worth it. I am so glad I found this bag. It’s a work-horse bag.

I carry a lot of things to work and my bags always break. This bag holds twice the amount of stuff and is so sturdy and made great. It might have been more expensive but this bag will last a very long time. I would definitely recommend spending a little more for this bag then getting something else. It's huge and has many pockets. I love this bag. It's bigger in person then on the pictures. I have my whole laptop bag in it along with all my files, 14 folders, 2 clipboards and 2 books and there is still more room.

This is a great tote! Roomy, sturdy and it has a zip closure. The eye glass pocket on the outside is great. It could be larger. The inside pockets could be deeper. As it is, the bag is functional. A great weekender bag. Love the Carhartt color.

The good: the bag seems sturdy/structured and looks great. I love the two external side pockets (one for your coffee and one for your water!). The lining is a light pinstripe, quite nice. The shoulder straps are long enough that you can easily swing the bag up to rest comfortably on your shoulder. The color is a deep carhart brown. There is tons of space, a perfect teacher work bag. The meh: there is no zipper pocket inside the bag. There are three small open pockets and one larger pocket that fits a tablet or small laptop. I really could use even one small zipper pocket. The material is synthetic. That’s not a huge problem; I think I was expecting that heavy canvas feel of carhart coats and pants. This material is like a plastic-y sort of nylon or something. It’s not bad, just not quite as magical as I expected. Overall, it is a very good bag.

Such a well made product. I bought one for my daughter but had to get myself one also. I have nearly everything I could possibly need in it besides the kitchen sink. I have had so many compliments on it! Love this bag!

Durable and spacious, this tote is perfect for daily errands. The classic design goes with everything, but the lack of internal compartments makes organising a bit tricky. Great quality overall.

...and after a while, begins to feel uncomfortable on your shoulders (with a 14" laptop and some files in it). The pockets on either end is perfect for phone + wallet in front of you and a water bottle behind. Also nice that I still haven't ran into someone with the same bag :)
