I use these switches on any of my lamps that need a dimmer. Work great and last for years.

It works
Bought this a replacement dimmer switch for a Holtkotter wall lamp. It was intended for a LED bulb but I ended up using a halogen. The installation was quick and problem-free. It fits without issues the original metal knob. The lamp is as new and back in business! The dimming with a halogen is smooth and stable. Very satisfied with this purchase.

It worked great...
The switch worked great for about 6 months then the switch became loose and needed to be replaced, which I did with the same brand. The dimming switch worked great, going from full power to a very dim glow.

DO NOT BUY
This dimmer says it's LED compatible on the listing, but says "incandescent only" right on the cardboard. If you use an incompatible dimmer with LED bulbs your light is going to flicker. And we're all using LED bulbs in the US now; incandescents aren't available anymore. This dimmer is useless, and the listing is a lie.

Hard to find dimmer switch
I had to take a lamp apart because the dimmer switch broke. Ive changed dimmer switches plenty but never saw one like this and thought I would have to get something close to it and have to rig it up to work. Couldn’t believe Amazon had this same exact switch. Never saw one like this in my life! Thanks! Made the job easier! It even came with different color knobs to match your original and your lamp!
