Hobby Gift Sewing Machine Bag – 44 x 20 x 34cm, Heavy Duty Polyester, Durable Storage and Travel Bag with Reinforced Handle Strap & Front Pocket, Extra Padding for Machine Protection

This bag is lovely. It’s very good quality and perfect for carrying my grand daughter’s sewing machine, which she took on a train. It’s a lovely colour, made of strong material and there is lots off space to fit in extras. It was also delivered very quickly.

The bag is made of quality black fabric and has a woven pink lining. Not sure about it being rainproof. Description states 3mm. thick padding. I do not this is enough thickness for proper protection. A wrap of bubble wrap wrapped around the machine would be a cheap additive. The base inside the bag is very sturdy and has metal fittings that stand out. These could scratch paint from under a machine. My wrap of bubble wrap would stop this. The pocket on the front is only one and a half inches deep plus the width of the zip. and its base is in line with base of bag. A foot pedal wider than the pocket would make the pocket bulge. Handles are very strong and stitched well on to the front and back of the bag. The pink wraparound of fabric on the handles is permanently fixed on one handle and has pink velco to keep it firm. The top zip has two pull tags and opens from low on one side to low on the other. The pocket zip only has one pull tag. My Elna Carina Air Electronic SU fits with space to spare. This space will need filling to stop the machine from moving about though I could put the separate mains lead and air-controlled foot control with it's hollow hose (hose must not get squashed)wrapped in bubble pack to fill in this space. I also put in a wide plastic compartmental box for accessories in with the machine. This fits in too standing on its bottom edge. (This is a wide Flambeau box almost as wide as the sewing machine and 2"-3" deep. and luckily not as high as the machine when the box is stood that way). The machine's power lead could instead lie flat in the bottom of the outer pocket with its plug at one end. I could wrap the plug in bubblepack to stop the prongs sticking in anything. The separate foot control is a round, lightweight one only 2" or so high with a hollow tube that must not be crushed. There is still plenty of room for the manual if I chose to put the foot control and mains lead in the pocket. Quite a nice bag - I wish they did a smaller version for my smaller Elna machine. Edit Sunday 31 March, 2013. The bag contained my larger Elna Carina (SU) sewing machine - which is a quite heavy plastic machine - not my beloved Elna SU made of steel. It was sitting on the floor in the bag and I went to pick it up but only picked up one handle - I heard a tear. The handle is stitched so securely that when the handle lifted it was the outer fabric that gave way, the inner pink fabric has not torn. There is a little tear in the fabric near the handle. This is mendable - I'll put a patch inside - but I just think buyers should make sure if they lift the bag when it contains a heavy machine that they hold both handles.

Great bag for my sewing machine, it’s a little roomy with my machine in it, as my machine must be quite compact. The pocket on the front is really handy.

It’s good in that it looks inoffensive/ nice, it has a rigid bottom which is important to me and it is big enough to hold my machine even with a spool on at the top. It is made of strong fabric so it’s not going to get damaged or torn easily . It also has a capacious pocket on one side to hold whatever you want to put in it - cables, foot press or similar. My suggestion for improvement would be a similar sized pocket on the other side too, if it had that I’d give 5 stars.

This sewing carry bag has just arrived and I am astounded by the quality for the price. I purchased the fuchsia pink, which is a lovely bright colour. The bag is canvas...the type used for sports holdalls. It is roomy. I have already filled it with my sewing machine, foot pedal, extension lead, instruction book, scissors and accessories. The zip is strong and can be padlocked. Large capacious zipped pocket on the front of bag. Good sturdy handles which clip together with velcro for a comfort grip. I will now be able to carry my machine with ease. This bag will last me a lifetime. The best purchase I have made for a long time. Highly recommended. A very happy customer!

Having just purchased a Brother LS14s sewing machine I needed a nice bag for it This bag is perfect for it. There is loads of space for the machine plus extras I use the side zipped storage compartment for cotton, scissors and all the other bits and pieces my new sewing machine came with I think the Lilac colour is really lovely too A bargain price for such a lovely bag You just cannot go wrong with this bag especially at this bargain price! Very very highly recommended

a great bag. it fits my sewing machine (a singer m2105) really well, and has space for cables and such. the front pocket is great to store little extras (like tailor's chalk, for example). the overall stitching is high quality, the zips work well, and the little strap that binds the handles together make it convenient and comfortable to carry. could not recommend enough if you are seeking a bag to get your sewing machine from point a to point b.

I was looking for a sewing bag for my new computerised sewing machine that has a hard cover & extension table, this bag fits everything in plus the foot pedal. It's made of sturdy material, has double zip which can be opened up completely to get the machine in & out with ease. I love that the handle velcro together with a nice grip cover so no digging into the hands. It's as it says, sturdy but folds away easily when needed. It's black but got a lovely splash of pink to give it a class look. I love mine & for the price you really can't wrong. It has everything that a bag twice it's price has - a great gift for a new sewing machine. I'd buy again & in fact, for the price, thinking about it to swap the blue plain one {cost more than this one for the same thing} that I have so that they match. There's a padded piece at the rear to protect against any knocks & the full size, roomy front pocket protects the front - I keep instructions, receipts & my ironing mat in there. Well worth the money.
