Great bit of kit, and essential if you want to do some DIY ethernet connections like i am. It is tricky to get the wired pairs in the connector in the right order and it took me a few tries to get my first successful termination. This where the diagrams and tester come into their own. The cable stripper is good and once you have done fiddly bit of wiring your supplied RJ45 connector, the tools crimp and cut works really well. Using CAT 6 cable i have succesfully created a ethernet LAN connection to my 4K tv and PS5 using this pack and a 1gig switch

Overall a great little kit. The crimper is sturdy and makes a clean cut on the cables. The cable tester is basic but does the job in checking that the cable is wired in the correct order and connections are made. Pros. Good value for money and contains everything you need to start making Ethernet cables with a good quantity of pass through connectors and boots. Cons. The cable tester was difficult to open the battery compartment and feels a bit flimsy, but does its job Overall it’s worth the price I paid and will be very useful for what I need. Easy to use and comes with instructions for both the crimper and the cable tester

Tool works well, have used to wire in Cat5e cables into my house, only negative is the boots are very hard

Good tool easy to use, just need to make sure the individual strands are perfectly straight before trying to insert them into the plug. I also find it better to strip back about 5cm so that if I don't get all the strands in the correct locations I can switch individual wires.

Really pleased with this, how I wish I had bought it before! I've had an ethernet kit with crimping tool and connectors for years, but as anyone who has tried to wire up an RJ45 plug or equivalent will tell you getting all 8 cores to line up correctly and properly into a "closed end" plug can be tricky. This is especially true for newer (Cat 5e and later) ethernet cable using twisted pairs, those pairs really *love* staying twisted and going into the wrong holes. A pass-through plug makes this so much easier since you can feed the cores through the plug individually, pull it all tight to the position you want, then crimp and cut using this tool. It makes the job almost trivially easy, you get it right first time. This also came with a little tester which probably works but I didn't try using it. The best test is to plug it in then try the speed using a computer. Highly recommended.

Great tool

Initially gave this 5 stars as it had everything in the box that you would need to plug ethernet cables, however I had issues with the cables after crimping new plugs that didn't work. I was trying to setup new POE CCTV's but after trying again and again crimping new plugs that just wouldn't work or would only partially work. I would use the cable testers in the box and it would show only for example say 1,2,3,5,6 working, next time none working or a different combination of numbers working after each attempt. I kept thinking that my cables weren't in the right order or I didn't get a clean enough cut on the final crimp. I kept trying but it was really erratic results when checking with the testers. My CCTV partially works, their is power going into it but it relays no video. I have even purchased brand new cables that work perfectly then put a new plug on one end and suffered failures. I have concluded (rightly or wrongly) that the crimping tool doesn't "bite" down hard enough to get a proper connection with the wires, despite clamping as hard as I could with the tool. Also a side note the blade doesn't always give a clean cut when doing the final crimp. I have had to purchase a separate crimping tool and hope I get better results.

Great tool for making or repairing your own cables. Came with tester so you can check cables when done. Works great with the pass thru plugs.

Acheté ce kit pour me faire mes propres câbles à la maison pour interconnecter mes appareils réseau. Après avoir pris le coup de main, j'ai tellement aimé utiliser cette pince que je n'arrivais plus à m'arrêter. Précise, multi-format, passthrough pour faciliter le sertissage RJ45, j'en suis ravi. Pas utilisée depuis un moment, mais elle sera bientôt sortie du placard pour un nouveau projet d'envergure :-).

Item working perfectly 100%. I am using tbis tool to create Cat 5e daisy chain connections to use on a controlled ligthing system. The tool and tester works perfectly. Thanks
