I have an extensive entertainment set up (37" Flat screen, DVD player, surround sound system, Xbox 360 slim,1TB external hard drive for the 360 <home movies>, Direct TV box, kereoke machine and a few other things). This means I have a multitude of wires, cables, and power cords. I have tried the industrial cable covers and hide-a-ways, but those are bulky and create issues themselves. I work (and live onsite) in the hospitality industry, so I am always looking for better home improvement for myself and to benefit my guests. I choose the double-gang kit for the multitude of cables I have, still utilizing a cover strip for power cords, and decided to see how easy this might be to do myself. Aside from the time deciding placement and moving furniture, this installation took 24 minutes for both plates. Thats marking, cutting, trimming, putting in the drywall screws and attaching the outside plates. Clean up took a bit longer, suggest you use a tarp or plastic to catch most of the mess so you can vacume right away and be done. I like the look and how this does not devalue the property. I can see how this would be a great idea for homeowners, as this would only increase the value of the home. We are looking into putting the single gang plates in our rooms here to hide the cables and cords when we install more flatscreens.

I needed an easy and effective way of hiding the cables coming down from my smart TV. I found this product being used on YouTube so I searched for it on here and was very glad to have found it. Installation was very straight forward. The tools you will need for this is: tape measure, a straight edge, dry wall saw, screw driver, pencil. I am going to assume if your TV is already on the wall, you already have a stud finder so you can use that to make sure you're not cutting too close to the stud. The most challenging part of this project is probably going to be fishing the cables through; It was for me. Definitely fish the cables from atop first to the bottom. Having a flashlight here can be helpful The only thing to be weary of is a fire-block. Use the stud finder to be certain that there is no fire-block in the way. If there is, and you can't move to a different location, you will have to drill through it diagonally so you will need a power drill for this step. Overall, this product really did it for me. If you think you will be adding more cables later on, I would look into getting the kit that comes with a wider opening. With this product, I would say 4 HDMi cables is as much as you're going to fit through

this product is good and looks good on the wall (when you are able to actually see it) but as others have noted the screw for which to mount the brackets in the wall are way too long and sharp and will most definately destroy a cable. I also wish it had better installation instructions

This is the best idea ever. It gives our wall a very clean look and will definitely help when we decide to sell the house in the future. I have been to many houses where the cables are just hanging or the owners try to hide it with on of those plastic wire tracks but having no trace of wires is the best look you can get. Sure, you can always just cut holes in the wall and shove the cables in without these plastic housings and it would have the same look, but it's ugly and unprofessional and can be problematic when you decide to sell your house. Go check YouTube for the installation. The metal pieces that comes in the kit makes this very sturdy, when you screw the metal pieces in it actually tightens and holds onto the drywall, then the plastic piece connects to that so it is 100% secure.

I read some of the other reviews for these wall plates and was a little afraid about the quality but I liked that you got two plates in one package so I ordered them anyway. I just installed them behind my new TV and I can tell you they are fantastic. Some of the other reviewers seems to be confused about to install the mounting plates in the wall. Mark the wall where you want the plate, cut out a hole and mount the back plate to the wall. Other reviewers seems to think that the metal prongs on those plates were used to mount the back plate to the wall but this isn't the case. You mount these back plates to the wall with the three included screws and then you bend those prongs back at a 90 degree angle so they push back your insulation and help to create a nice wide opening to run the wires into. Then you mount the plastic wall plate onto the back plate with the four included finish screws.

Instructions are a little less than clear but if you have a basic knowledge of construction, the installation is a breeze.

Its a good product that upon receipt, looks like it doesnt assemble correctly. However, you need to bend the metal prongs for extra security in the drywall. HOWEVER, after installing it I started to wonder what the purpose of the metal plate is. For one thing, this can easily be done just using white plastic part. Just mark where the holes go, install some anchors, cutout the hole for the recepticle, and then screw it into the wall. I feel like that would make the process so much less painful than it is.
