Superbly designed with concise solution methods and excellent exercises and solutions.
What I liked most is that this text extensively developed the treatment of ODEs with variable coefficients of the independent variable, through Recurrence of Power Series Expansions to the important special cases of these including the Hermite Laguerre, Cheyshev, and Legendre varieties. The final chapter ties it all together with applied problems in electric circuits, mechanical motions, and econometric growth rates. What I found disappointing is that this text stopped short with the introduction of the Wronskian for determining linear independence of solutions, when I wanted it to boldly go forward into the use of the Wronskian to systematically determine all the solutions to NON-Homogeneous ODEs. The subject of NON-Homogneous ODE's was completely side-stepped in this text. I, also, greatly appreciated the design of the problem sets where previous exercises set the foundation for more complicated ones to come. I often found the more complicated problems were simplified by re-using the solutions determined in the previous simpler exercises. IE.) Don't re-invent the wheel concept.

Excellent review of DE's
Like other branches of mathematics, you learn it by DOING it...and all these review books by the author are heavily focused on practice problems with some explanations. This is not meant to be a primary text book as much theory is omitted. The main gap I see is that there is not a section of solving DE's by power series, which is introduced in pretty much every ODE class. Like the other books in the series (Physics, Single and multivariable Calculus, Trig) I strongly endorse these to my high-school students

Really great refresher for an old timer like me - recalling uni maths

Nicely laid out with good examples, I got this for myself to "refresh", having been out of doing advanced mathematics for while. Came quickly and has excellent exercises and examples to illustrate principles. IMO, a good refresher for those like me, or for students wishing to hone their calculus work on differential equations, and review their treatment of these for courses.
