Great book lots of information especially for a newby at the hobby.

There are lots and lots of books about mosaics on here - but this wee book has it all. It is positively crammed with everything you might ever want to know and understand. The book covers the basics at one end and ventures into the more unusual as it goes along. It covers everything from how to cut tiles, through how to lay them, the effects of different coloured grouts, includes some interesting studies on the different effects gained from changing colour schemes and has literally EVERYTHING in it including setting up a work-space at the start to a quick look at innovators in the field of mosaics as it concludes. This book was recommended to me by a mosaicing-nut of a friend and she was right to do so. It does include a few projects here and there but unlike a lot of books which sound like they will tell you everything and then end up just telling you how to mosaic 25 variations on a bird-bath, this book really does cram a massive amount of all sorts into it's pages. Good for the beginner and the enthusiast alike - I even recommended it to my mosaicing tutor and she REALLY liked it. Don't look any further - just get this book!!

I have always been interested in art & crafts and like to try different things. In the past I have tried Doughcraft, Plaster Casting, Resin work, Decoupage, so this looked very interesting/challenging. I have only had a cursory look through this book so far - and it is extremely interesting. The projects look very effective. There are projects for newcomers and for more advanced enthusiasts. The instructions are very clear - and there is plenty of information about the equipment needed. I am thinking on going on an introductory course locally first, to get an insight into this kind of hobby.

I was very pleased with this book and I am sure I shall use it whenever I have a mosaic project. I have recommended it to mosaic colleagues especially beginners and improvers and at least one of them has bought it. It gives clear instructions and there are indeed 300 tips. It is very colourful and there are lots of pictures to follow and inspire you.

An book of 153 pages, including a glossary packed full of information. The book is divided into 5 sections: 1) Essential preparation 2) All about tesserae 3) Research and plan your design 4) Working methods 5) Practical applications. There is also a section at the back of suggested suppliers and associations and as the book is published in Britain, it is nice to see some British suppliers listed. Well photographed and explained and some projects to try, with step by step photographed instructions.
