Body Solid Squat/Calf Block

Use regularly, excellent quality of build , does what it says on the can !

A useful tool but you should teach yourself to squat deep without it - unless you want to dominate your quads. If you don't squat deep while using this product - there's no point of using it. Your body will only give you as much flexibility as you ask of it

This calf/squat block is definitely extremely heavy duty, easy to assemble and gives a great calf stretch. However I didn't find the patterned metal face gave that great of a grip wearing hi tops for calf raises. It's pretty high and steep. Using it for standing barbell calf raises in my home gym I found it to be extremely hard to stay balanced and potentially dangerous without support. Luckily I have a power rack so was able to have the safety bars high up and have the block right at the back so it scrapes against the rack uprights as I raise my calves to prevent me falling backwards. Not ideal but it does the job. (many thanks to the other reviewer who posted this method). Otherwise I really would not feel safe using this block and it would of been an expensive waste of money.

Very solid, not going to break any time soon. I gave it 5 stars only because I got it reduced, if it was normal price it'd be 4 as it id quite dear.

Fantastic piece of equipment. The curve is the calf step is soo much more comfortable than the basic straight step, and the squat wedge really helps those with ankle mobility issue to get into a deep squat. In response to the other reviewer in regards to stability - of course you are supposed to hold onto something when you use this for calf raises, what did you expect? With a safety squat bar you can balance it happily on your shoulders and work away.
