Catit Large Hooded Grey Litter Box with Airsift Filter System

I invested in a slightly more "sophisticated" cat toilet for my moggy, as she was a dab hand at either flinging copious amounts of cat litter out of the box after going in it or, in the worst cases, missing the box alltogether (a trifle messy!!). In addition to this, we recently moved house and now have to have the cat litter box in the kitchen (I know, not ideal). I was really impressed with the Catit Style Hooded Cat Litter Tray. The delivery was really prompt and I was pleased with the quality of the product. It was sufficently packaged and there were instructions for putting the box together attached to the lid. It's really easy to put together... just put the lid on, fasten the sliding catches (though this is not necessarily a must if you do not plan to lift the litter tray by the handle and move it somewhere else) and then fill with cat litter. There is a transparent cat flap that allows the cats to get in and out of the box easily - and gives them some privacy (which is important to my cat). If your cat doesn't like this feature, you simply flip the lid up onto the top of the box - so the entrance is clear, but the cat still has privacy provided by the roof. It is a good sized litter tray. Millie weighs about 5kg and is quite fluffy and she has plenty of room to move about in the box/tray. Cleaning out the litter tray is easy too. I don't use tray liners, but clean out the tray 1-2 times a day. I hook a plastic bag into the little "catches" at the front of the tray (bottom section). They bag stays open and in place - so you don't end up with dirty litter all over the floor. Clumping litter is brilliant and works well in the litter tray. All in all... a great purchase and fantastic value for money. 5/5 from all the family, 2-legged and 4-legged. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a low odour litter tray for a cat who likes to throw litter out of the box.

As many other reviewers have said, mine arrived damaged, with a big crack in the underside of the tray in my case. I didn't notice it at first until it started to get a bit leaky, and by then it was too late to exchange it for an undamaged one. Duct tape and make do it is! So I guess the plastic might be kinda flimsy. Aside from that, this has actually been a terrific buy; I have five cats and two trays (plus outside), and this one is deep, wide, secluded, and the household favourite among the felines. The flip-open lid is a brilliant feature (for me), allowing easy access to clean and refresh, and it's plenty big enough for them all to do their business during the day when I'm at work without anyone getting fussy that someone used it before them (so long as I clean it a.m. and p.m.). The lid is easy to slot into place and remove, and it's nice and deep so even the fussiest cat box oficionado has plenty of room to dig to China post-poop. I'd happily outfit my whole house with these if I had the space, but word to the wise: DO check for cracks and damage before you put yours to use. It seems that very few arrive unscathed, so do check yours carefully when it arrives and don't hesitate to ask for an exchange if yours is busted. It's a really well-designed tray, but just make certain that you received the quality you paid for. ❤

delivered promptly and well packaged. on assembling it, i felt the bottom tray was rather flimsy; but when filled with a few inches of cat litter, it was fine. it's a BIG box - both in width and height - and that's good for cats, who like to turn round a bit when they're covering their poo up. pale grey and white: nice neutral pale colours. it has a ledge (part of the base) just inside the door end, extending an inch or two into the box itself, and this has rather a sharp edge. however, it doesn't seem to present any problems, and in fact has stopped my cat from doing her usual thing of standing inside the box, reaching outside it and shredding the newspaper underneath. she just can't quite reach! ;-) i wasn't at all impressed with the square of black stuff (like a nylon sink scrubber) wedged into the lid. it wouldn't seem to me to be either useful as ventilation, since there's no way you could breathe through it, or as a deodoriser. as some buyers have said, it's an invitation to a curious cat: to take it apart - and my worry would be that they would catch their claws in it, and be unable to detach: could be really dangerous. remove it! and replace with a square of cardboard, or cork tile, if you don't want a hole in the lid. the sliders which hold the lid to the base are a good idea: less likely to break than the usual snap fastening flaps. not sure how much i'd trust them, if lifting the box up when it was full of cat litter, though. like any responsible cat owner, i immediately removed the plastic swing door: who wants to trap a cat inside a litter box with all that dust? no wonder some cats have lung problems. don't use the door, but stand the box so that the open end faces a wall (a foot or so out from the wall) and your dust problem will be minimal. what do you value most - your cat's lungs, or a bit of dust on surfaces, which can be easily hoovered? all in all a good large box, but with a star removed for the nasty unnecessary piece of black nylon stuff.

Mooie grote kattenbak. In begin hadden katten beetje stress om de deurtje maar na aantaal keer gespeeld te hebben zijn ze er aan gewend. Je kan de deurtje ook omhoog klappen maar dan gaat de hele functie van stank tegenhouden verloren. Je kan mooi bij de ingang de zakje soort van vastmaken waardoor zooi eruit scheppen ook makkelijker gaat. Verder is de bak groot genoeg om de kat meer bewegingsvrijheid te geven.

My cat just love this litter box. Its big and spaciuos, very well built, the front flap door is amazing, carbon filter works amazing and morever one of the best thing about it is that how easy it is to clean, the flap door just opens all the way up and back so that the litter can be scooped easily. For this price, its absolutely a steal deal . Good job Amazon .

Very sturdy and good looking. We have 2 cats (male and female) and the male is not a fan of it and still uses the uncover litter box (we have 2 in a room) for peeing. He will go in the cover one once in a while but the uncover one is his preference. We had purchased this one for him because he is a high pee sprayer. My female uses this cover one all the time. I guess it depends of the cat. Some like covers and others don't. But overall, it is a good litter box and we purchased one for home and one for our RV. We did not use the little plexiglass door on it as I find the cats did not like being confined and we leave the filter part up also so it geives them a bigger ouverture at the top.
