without a doubt, this is an amazingly important album in rock music. you may like it or not, no one can erase out the Seattle scene from rock music and neither diminish AIC in the Seattle scene. Not that quite grunge thing, AIC always standed apart of it, but always with this dirty, cold and fuzzy rock sound. this band still is one of my favorite ones, and this album the one a prefer. recommended.

Alice in Chains : Alice in Chains 2026 30th Anniversary reissue, Limited Edition Highlighter Yellow Vinyl Originally released in 1995, this reissue has finally been released again after all these years on vinyl. Is this as good as Dirt? Some say its better, but for me I dont think so, that said its still a brilliant album. Songs such as Grind, Sludge Factory, Heaven Besides You, Frogs and Again are fantastic songs. Dirt is one of the greatest albums of the 1990s so it was always going to be difficult to follow that up. What I love about this album songs aside is you dont come up for air from start to finish, its relentless, the vocal harmony between Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell are perfection, the Sludgey riffs make this not only a statement grunge album but a metal album as well, the acoustic moments used to break up songs are masterfully executed but also perhaps the greatest thing about this album is its honesty. The making of this album was done at a time when the band was literally imploding, it was being held together and its incredible it was actually completed. At this time Layne Staleys crippling drug addiction was apparent, he was barely functional, the band themselves werent in great condition either but for Layne it was critical. Sadly he didnt recover. Alice in Chains only managed a handful of shows to promote the album and that was it. (Unplugged aside) the band was on hiatus and Layne sadly died in 2002. This is an album of its time and it reminds you not only of how good the music was in the 1990s, but how brutal it could be on those making that music that we all loved

Brilliant band, not their best piece, though it adds to their diversity, lyrics and music are amazing. I will be giving this album another listen....

Best Alice in Chains album in my opinion, closely followed by "Facelift" and "Dirt". Make sure you get those albums as well, they're all awesome!
