POPPSTAR Self-Fusing Silicone Band, Silicone Tape, 3m x 25mm, Sealing & Insulating Strip (water-tight, air-tight), black, 1 Roll

I bought this to mend some previously rubber coated tools that had become abraded from shearing forces so i though i would give this tape a try. The tape has a "backing tape" which needs to be peeled off. There has to be a knack to doing this and wrapping the tape using the right amount of stretch. The tape is very clingy, its not sticky but it will stick to itself very quickly a bit like PTFE tape does. Once you have applied the tape and wrapped whatever you wanted done the end result is very pleasing. I have yet to try the shear forces of the tape but from the initial feel i have good hopes for it. If it doesn't work then its easy to cut off with no messy residue to worry about. It does come with a set of multi language instructions but the text is so small its almost impossible for these tired eyes to read. Why not just print a QR Code and get the instructions that way. Only time will tell on the effectiveness of the tape. i will post a reply after using it for a while.

It's pretty good without being all the way brilliant. It does the job of stopping the water, and moulding to the needs of the people. Reasonably easy to apply and the instructions are clear. My only gripe, and reason for singular star reduction is that the end peels after a few days. I stretched that fellow long and stuck it down exactly how the instructions indicated. However, after three or four days the end needs to be re-stretched and stuck back down. I've removed it once due to the end coming loose, and thinking the fault was with me. It was not. My technique and pulling prowess, which I questioned, was not at fault, it was adequate both times. Yet I was left feeling like my life was a lie and I'd somehow failed. Failed my family, my loved ones, and humanity as a whole. That I'd committed an unforgivable sin. But the fault was not mine Not will it be yours if you buy this product and experience a similar issue.

There are several possible fixes for reinforcing damaged cables. I think the neatest is usually to use heat shrink tubing, but the problem is you need heat which isn't always appropriate, and you need to slip the tubing over the cable, and sometimes there are large objects in the way. That was my problem. So the next solution I considered was a 2 part silicon putty. However while they do the job, they look terrible - a bit like permanent setting Blu-tak. This tape is in my opinion the best solution for repairing damaged cables where heat shrink can't be used. I'd not used it before and getting the technique right of pulling to give tension while holding and turning requires practice. The tension is essential as it is what triggers the layers to fuse. I am particularly pleased with my much loved BOSE headphones. These are known for a number of design problems arising from the joins to the noise suppression unit and also for being expensive. I think this repair will get me another years usage out of them. I love it. The now fused black rubber tape feels really strong and robust too and is now supporting the cable joints.

I used this tape to seal the end of a pipe which had been squeezed together in a rather botched previous attempt to cap it off. Because of the peculiar shape, I had my doubts that the tape would work, but gave it a go... Initially, the tape stopped 95% of the leak, leaving some small drips squeezing themselves out. I was sort of disappointed but maybe not surprised given the job I'd asked it to do. However, the instructions did state that the seal takes 24 hours to fully cure, so I left it in place to check the following day. SURE ENOUGH, 24 hours later, the leak had entirely stopped, and I have continued to monitor it since (a couple of days so far), and the bowl I left in place has remained completely dry. HOORAY !! It does what it says, and beyond. Most definitely an invaluable piece of kit for a DIY plumbing.

After Messing about peeling the backing off I used to.try and seal pipe I'd did not sticker bind to itself but after several.attempts I gave up.an replaced the pipes

I had a leaking soil pipe connection to the wc pan which was at an angle. rather than uninstall the toilet and risk disturbing the soil stack I stopped the leak using this tape. Firstly I cleaned the outside of the joint and allowed to dry as it helps the tape to grip the pipe better. It is not necessary to dry it as the tape only really adheres to its self and will work under water. I used several layers of tape over the joint to prevent any risk that the pipe would cut through the tape over time. Instant result, in addition this tape is 38 mm wide as opposed to only 19 or 25 mm for other tapes. Well recommended!

After seeing the positive reviews, we tried to use this to repair a crack in a plastic water barrel. However, despite following the instructions carefully, the tape didn't properly adhere and is now hanging off of the plastic surface. It won't be much use now so it was a waste of money.

Used to seal gaps on back steps. Early days but so far so good, time will tell whether robust enough to withstand wet weather.

Efter en relinining av avloppen blev det inte riktigt tätt i kopplingen i golvet för diskhon. Fick tips att köpa någon slags rörtejp. Efter lite Googlande och sökande på Amazon så fastnade jag för den här. Den är töjbar och formar sig bra runt rör och koppling. Fungerar perfekt.

Imprescindible en la caja de herramientas para reparaciones de urgencia. Manguitos de automóviles, cañerías, bajantes y desagües, calefacción……. Con un rollo de cinta americana y otro de vulcanizadla se puede reparar "casi cualquier cosa"

Bonjour à tous, J'ai utilisé ce produit pour colmater une fuite de LHM sur un tuyau de retour du conjoncteur disjoncteur sur une Citroën XM V6. Après avoir bien dégraissé le tuyau que j'ai simplement débranché du conjoncteur disjoncteur afin de faciliter l'accessibilité, j'ai appliqué le ruban suivant les indications. 24h00 après le séchage j'ai mis en route le moteur et vu que cela avait l'air OK, j'ai roulé avec la voiture avec succès. Cela fait maintenant deux semaines et la réparation a l'air de tenir. Le ruban doit donc résister au liquide hydraulique comme précisé dans l'annonce. Je précise que j'avais auparavant fait une réparation identique avec un rouleau du même genre à bas prix et cela avait tenu 1/2heure, le temps que l'huile LHM liquéfie le caoutchouc du ruban ! Je suis donc très satisfait de ce ruban que je recommande... Cordialement
