Great adaptor but not perfect.
I read lots of reviews before buying this adaptor mostly good but some not so. I understand the range of opinions now that I've used it but overall I love it. It's easy to fit, although a centralising tool like that supplied with the Sony filter would help, and it does the job very well. I now use a 10 stop ND filter on my RX100m3 and I'm delighted with the results. I've also bought a polarising filter but I haven't used it yet. The filter attaches easily and for straightforward shooting sessions it's great - simple to put on, use, take off and easy to carry around. I can understand why people might not be keen on leaving it on the camera for long periods. I found that whenever you switch the camera off the lens retracts and any filter attached to the adaptor falls off. I quickly learned to take the adaptor off the camera before switching the camera off so this is no longer a problem for me. It's easy to slip back on when I need it again. The magnetic ring which stays on the camera permanently is tiny and hardly noticeable and I quite like the carrying case that comes with the adaptor - though it could do with being a bit bigger to allow the adaptor with an attached filter to fit more easily.

Works well on the Panasonc DMC-TZ100
My main reason for writing this is to confirm a previous reviewer's comment that it can be used on the TZ100 (a model the seller does not list among those it will fit). The only disadvantages of the adaptor that I have seen mentioned in reviews are: 1. The adaptor falls off when the lens fully retracts. This does not happen on the TZ100. I think it might be a problem if you had a camera with a very small diameter barrel (close to 36mm) which also retracts a little way inside its outer tube rather than being flush. 2. A thick filter ring can cause vignetting in wide-angle shots. I did not see this on the TZ100 at full wide-angle (25mm) with a Hoya PL-CIR filter fitted. The ring on this filter adds 6mm to the adaptor's length. 3. It is too easy to stick the magnetic ring on slightly off-center. Maybe I got lucky. If you peel off the backing and lay the ring very lightly on the lens barrel it will certainly grab, but not too hard to prevent small sideways adjustments - then press down to stick it permanently in position. 4. The telescopic lens mechanisms on these cameras are not designed to resist side-to-side forces when you are attaching and removing an adaptor like this. Yes, but if you start yanking the adaptor about it will just release itself from the magnet. A ring magnet is also self-centering as you bring the two parts together, so it is almost impossible to put it on skew-wiff. I like this adaptor a lot. It's very light, well constructed and easy to use. Not cheap, but you can see where the money was spent.

Vignetting should be occured for SONY RX100 mark6
As you can see, there are vignetting on the three corner of the photo. It happened when I took photos by widest range in 24mm. If you want take photos or videos in 24mm, you should consider other accessories. I purchase this to put ND filtre for video shooting. It is pretty easy to install, easy to put it on/off. Product quality is nice.

It works very well and sticks well enough to easily adjust CP and variable ND filters without moving
Just to be clear this is a review of the Carry Speed MagFilter Magnetic filter adapter for compact cameras. I bought it for a Sony RX100M4. It came with a Very thin sticky back ring that sticks to the front of your camera. It is so small you really won't notice it, no problem, it also came with a spare sticky back ring. Filter thread size is 52mm and I bought a number of filters to use. It magnetically attaches to the camera, sticking to the ring that you have stuck on the lens surround. It works very well and sticks well enough to easily adjust CP and variable ND filters without moving. The only downside is that you can knock it off the camera so some care is needed, at some point it will end up in a river! When that happens you will just buy another.....

works a treat
Previously bought the adaptor ring that stays on the camera. Fell off after one use, adhesive failed. This is much more practical since only a very thin metal ring is added to the camera so cannot get moved in a carry case. Excellent pocket for adaptor when not in use, has a lanyard to fit on camera strap. Wish i had bought this one in the first place..

I recently bought an Olympus Stylus 1 and then a Sony RX 100 II (due to the shortcomings of the Olympus but that's another story). Unfortunately neither camera has provisions for using filters and I use a polarizing filter relatively often and an ND filter not as often (but will be now considering Sony's 1.8 lens that I want to take advantage of). This is really an elegant solution for the Sony (but doesn't fit on the Olympus). I had serious concerns about fit and aesthetics initially but finally bit the bullet and ordered it. Wow, once the magnetic ring is glued on, you can hardly tell it's there without looking closely - looks great! Functionally, it also works great. The ring itself is only about 0.030" thick and about 3/16" wide but is magnetically strong and holds the threaded ring very securely. When mounted, the magnetic ring holds the threaded ring in place very firmly allowing the polarizing filter to turn on its own - just like in a "real" mount. Having said all that, the first one I got had damaged threads and wouldn't accept a filter, so I returned it and ordered another which works just fine.
