Tala Ceramic Pie Bird in Gift Tin

I bought this as I like making homemade pies, particularly a Scottish mince round. Generally my bottom crust has come out fairly soggy even with vents cut in the top crust, however having tried this pie bird once, the pastry turned out perfectly solid and I was able to slice and serve the pie. One thing to note - when placing the pie bird, just sit it gently on the bottom crust, don't push it into the pastry or it won't perform as well.

I've been wanting a pie crust funnel for a long time. My old one got crazed and I binned it.Tala is a good name in baking, and I think the little tin is also very cute and will protect my little bird.I've not used it as yet, but I am sure it will be fine.Very many thanks for such speedy delivery.
