Very pleased!
Bought this at a reduced price and boy am I pleased! It's super - by far the best salad spinner I have ever had! Looks lovely and spins the leaves brilliantly. Spins smoothly (none of this knob-twisting business!) and the brake that stops the spinning, works a treat. Love that you can lock down the knob, as it makes it much more compact to fit in the fridge. Bit larger than I expected but in fairness, I only glanced at the measurements given in the product description, so totally my own fault! Would highly recommend!

Super Spinner!
This works just great! Very powerful spin which leaves your salad dry and crispy. Sticks to the worktop too - which is a good plus. (So much better than bunching up lettuce into a teatowel, going out into the garden and spinning your arm around like mad - which I've been doing for years! Although I do miss the exercise ...) Salad keeps fresh in it for at least two days as well, which is handy as I always make too much, and used to waste loads. Now we have salad two days running, or use it the next day in sandwiches, etc. (I think it would last longer than two days, actually, but haven't tried.) So it's a money-saver too! Only downside for me was where to store it, as it's quite big, and my cupboards are full. I solved this by finding space for just the lid in a cupboard, and storing the bowl itself in the 'fridge. Yes, you do have room! Just put all your unprepared salad stuff inside the bowl. (Give it a quick swill round before using, of course.) Job done!

OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner
This is a good sturdy necessary piece of kitchen equipment. Ideal for washing and drying full lettuces and other leafy vegetables. The large bowl and lid is so practical for preparing salad beforehand and storing in the fridge. The plastic bowl also doubles as an extra serving bowl for parties etc.

Check size before you buy
Well made. Bowl sturdy despite being plastic. Bought it to replace old OXO spinner with stainless steel bowl. Didn’t check size - it’s huge!

Super efficient, easy to clean, quick and excellent price
This salad spinner is the best purchase for the kitchen I have ever made! I live alone and don't have much time to prep food. I spin all my salad on Monday and keep the whole spinner in the fridge. It keeps completely fresh for a good 4-5 days! Amazing! Great for popping salad into sandwiches and dinners as well as the usual. waters spun out completely and I usual take a piece of kitchen towel to just take abit of moisture of the cucumber to make it last longer. If you have a small fridge or shelves you can't move u may want the smaller one. This one's great for family's or someone like me who loves fresh salad. Don't waste yout money on bagged salad that lasts 2 days get one of these! Can use for fruit too :) Enjoy!

Oxo Salad Spinner
I saw Jamie Oliver use this type of salad spinner on TV - it made the job sooooo much easier than using conventional spinners. After a quick search on the Net, found what I wanted and it's worth it's weight in gold! I have back problems and found it very easy to use. It doesn't skid along the worksurfaces, the brake is great and love the fact that it is dishwasher proof (All hail the dishwasher!!) I no longer end up hugging the salad spinner I had like a long lost friend trying to turn the handle and hold it on the worksurface. Great idea and so simple.

Fantastic salad spinner
What a great product, very nice quality plastic, easy to clean , will go in dishwasher, but easy to rinse under tap. Everyone who has salad or wants to freeze fresh corriander and dill should have one. I didn't think I would really need one, but I bought it and now use it all the time, especially if you are making Turkish red cabbage salad and freezing herbs and making washed salad last longer in fridge. Great product.

So I've owned this spinner for 3 years. I have a large garden and this spinners cleaned about 300 heads of lettuce, pounds of various herbs, lots of leafy greens like spinach, beet, sweet potato, and amaranth. The ad claims it will stop on a dime but it's more like 8 dimes but still good. I'm not particularly gentle with it either. Gardeners know the challenge of processing food peak season; the faster the better. It did fail after the 2nd year. Why 5 stars then? You can take it apart. I simply twisted the top from the center plunger, realigned a spring, reset a rod, and reassembled it. Quick and easy. The best thing about this? It seals. You can put any food in this thing and it will keep it as fresh as the day you put it in. Noticeably longer than in the fridge crisper..by weeks. It's not the biggest sized spinner you can get, but it's close and does a good job. The ad also mentions using it as a serving bowl and I imagine if you're not putting so much food through it it will still look good, but after 3 years the inner basket has rubbed the bowl edge (over-filled it probably too many times) and made marks on the outer bowl. Also, while it was presentable enough for a serving bowl, it has a center spike that the inner basket sets and spins on. Anyone not familiar with it being there might snag the spike while trying to get their salad and risk dumping it or knocking it around. Should this ever fail I wouldn't hesitate buying it again.

The salad spinner works as advertised by pressing down on the top to spin it. I have another salad spinner which works by spinning a knob, and I think that it actually works better because it can get cranked up to gets higher speeds. The OXO goes a bit slower and is less effective in achieving high speeds. The OXO also can become unstable at high speeds. Therefore it works best with lighter salads. The plastic is hard and maybe brittle. I have not had trouble with it, but have not dropped it either. At €24 and considering that it is all made of plastic it seems a bit expensive. Still it is a decent enough product which hopefully should provide years of service.
