Buy Advanced Bushcraft: An Expert Field Guide to the Art of Wilderness Survival by Canterbury, Dave (ISBN: 9781440587962) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Nice job DC - Nice job DC. Paper back version. Good use of page budget. Layout and type face make this book a comfortable read. Nicely structured – read it straight through or just dip into a subject. Well balanced range of topics. Authors ‘no wasted words’ writing style, enthusiasm and practical experience make this a compelling book that ranks high in this crowded segment of the market. I read it alongside my tablet so that I could refer to the Internet for some areas where I personally needed a bit of extra background. YouTube videos provided some visuals. Other searches gave me a quick look-up on topics I was unsure about. The Introduction links Bushcraft 101 to this Advanced volume. It sets the scene for follow-on chapters that will appeal to a wide range of bushcrafters. A Series is mentioned - another volume next summer? Could be a busy winter for DC. Review: I must say this is an excellent book on bushcraft - I must say this is an excellent book on bushcraft. I have the Ray Mears and Bear Grylls stuff but this is straight to the point and easy to read. Dave Canterbury who teaches training courses uses the "10 C's of survival" which is also covered in this book. If you are doing one of his training courses this is a good book to read before and to have as a reference after. Recommened for the Outdoors, Survival and Prepper people.

One of the better field guides that I've come across.
A well laid out, well thought out and simple guide and very good follow on to his "Bushcraft 101" book. In both books Dave has covered trapping well (the first book he dedicates more to trapping and game prep than any other part of the book). In his second book Dave actually spends a bit more time on things like lashings, bindings, weaving and making looms (30 odd pages) which has been overlooked / under explained by many in their books. It's by no means a fully comprehensive guide. If you want a fully comprehensive guide to bushcraft, good luck!! As far as I am aware there is no such thing, the subject is far too vast to be covered in just one book. If however you want a book that covers some of the more advanced aspects of bushcraft and survival, but leaves the ball squarely in your court to learn more, then this is as good a place to start as any.

Information for beginners and revision for experienced outdoorsmen
I've been a fan of Dave Canterbury since dual survivor/his YouTube videos. He's passionate and has built his skills in a no nonsense way. The book summarizes a lot of the info that Canterbury put out in ebooks and videos over the years. Dave has been credited (correctly) with several systems that many outdoorsman now use such as the 5 c's ( the basic kit required in an outdoors or survival situation) amongst others. This book gives the beginner a great resource and is a superb memory aid to more experienced outdoors men. The book gives opinion on gear needed, pros and cons of specific items, multiple uses for items . . And the skills needed like fire lighting, shelter building, water purification and plant/ hunting resources. I can't say enough about this. Regardless of experience, you will get something from this book. Literally in my top 2/3 outdoors books (with Mors Kochanski book "Bushcraft" and kepharts" Woodcraft") that I read and 're read all the time.

Buen libro, interesante, bien estructurado y buenas ilustraciones. Cómo única pega es que en algunas secciones da por supuesto que has leído Bushcraft 101.
