Duo 35staple / nail gun by Tacwise
Purchased December 2013 after reading that it replaced earlier models which apparently didn't have a good reputation. Used this to make a trellis for climbing roses, using staples into softwood. It worked quite well but after about 30 staples it jammed. This continued until I finished the job, every 20 or 30 staples it jammed. This was over twelve months ago. I didn't use it for a few months then after six months or so used it again making a storage box with plywood. Same thing happened, roughly 2 dozen staples and jam! Still, with some patience managed to finish the box. Today needed to staple a piece of mesh onto a wooden frame which was twenty inches by twenty. To put in forty staples took about an hour. Every third or fourth staple jammed! On two occasions three staples came out together. Now completely fed up with it, am going to try and find out where the Tacwise research department is so that I can send it to them in order that they can use it to find out why it is such a c- -p piece of rubbish. It cost me over £80, I am existing on a basic state pension and cannot afford to waste money, but I will donate it free for research purposes. Even if they manage to fix it I don't want it back, it really is that useless. The case it came in is quite good and the gun looks the part but that is as far as I can go. Maybe I was unlucky? Watch this space for the outcome. 19 April 2015 On 1st April, out of the blue, I received a message through Amazon customer discussions from Tacwise who said they were concerned about my experience with this product and would like to put things right. I must add that at that time, due to personal family health reasons I had not got around to contacting them, so this came as quite a surprise. After a couple of exchanges by email with a gentleman in Tacwise customer services, though reluctant at first, I agreed to accept an offer of a brand new replacement unit. On April 8th I posted the faulty unit (my opinion) on 48 hour delivery to them. I received the new item on the following Tuesday as promised. Although retired, at this time I have a very busy schedule and the project on which the stapler will be used is way down the list so I prepared a small item to use it on just to test it. Great guns, I used 150 staples without one misfire or jam! Incredible, compared to the original machine. Obviously it is a bit soon to shower too much praise on it , but must say the stapler itself has a solid, robust feel about it, which to me is usually a good sign. When I have completed a larger project I will post my results here asap. Having strongly condemned the original machine I must now state my experience with Tacwise customer services. It can only be described as second to none! The gentleman who contacted me offered me a good service and yes that is what I have had. In compensation for the cost of my returning the unit to them I received a large quantity of nails and staples plus, unexpectedly, a staple removing tool. Each contact has been a pleasure. For the company to chase me on the strength of my negative review and to press me to accept the replacement unit is truly amazing, and, beyond 12 months of original purchase. I recommend anyone who has a problem with one of these tools, don't hesitate to contact them for help. My rating for Tacwise customer service is 5 stars, first class! I cannot praise them highly enough.

Does not last long - MAJOR reliability issues - but EXCELLENT customer support
Edit: wow AMAZING customer service from Tacwise, they sent me an email, then called me directly to discuss the problem and resolution - honestly this sort of thing rarely seems to happen now so full marks to them for that - deducted one star because the item stopped working after little use but absolutely cannot fault Tacwise for their customer support. I bought this stapler in March 2025 - IT HAS ALREADY STOPPED WORKING - I have just written this to tacwise customer services: I purchased the above nailgun on 12th March 2025 (copy of invoice attached) and after doing some basic tasks around the house (pinning some thin MDF decorative window trims) and now just last week while putting up 15m of fencing it has stopped working. It was working, then it stopped. I checked to make sure it wasn't jammed first, then the fuse in the plug, using MULTIPLE fuses from a packet just to be sure I had not somehow got a duff fuse to no avail, it still would not fire. When the nailer is switched on at the switch, the green LED DOES NOT LIGHT. It's not been dropped, stepped on, thrown around or anything - it looks the same as when I bought it - I look after my tools, I'm not rich enough to keep replacing them through neglect. I've still got maybe 1/3 of the box of 40mm pin nails I bought to use with it - so it's fired LESS THAN 1000 PIN NAILS. If you need me to, I can get some footage of the nailer and prove it's not turning on using a plug socket that otherwise works. Honestly - I bought this tacwise brand over a cheaper option because I thought like most people do "better brand = better product". Because it stopped working while doing the fencing which I obviously couldn't leave unfinished as it's an external property boundary fence, I had to borrow a compressed air pin nailer with a small compressor from a builder mate of mine, and to be honest, it was better, it fired faster, drove the pin heads BELOW the surface of the featheredge fencing which the tacwise nailer did not so I had to hit them with a hammer to flush them down. The worst part? I could have bought that same setup for almost the same money as this nailer. The compressed airnailer is £35 and the compressor is £95 - my mate has used his for ALMOST 10 YEARS All in all I'm not particularly impressed by this product at all, and I think I'll post this same thing on the amazon page. I would like a prompt reply as to what the next steps are the resolve this - honestly, given the choice I'd ask for my money back £140 for a so-so nailer that doesn't even last a year, in this current economy is not something I'm prepared to swallow. Just for the record I am more than happy to have the item shipped back to tacwise for analysis of what broke for future quality control - and to prove I'm not lying - however, it will be at YOUR EXPENSE.

Dissapointing
I bought the genuine Tacwise staples for this gun but it kept firing 3 or 4 then jammed. Also you do need to use a spare hand on top of the gun otherwise the staples don’t go fully in with the amount of recoil. Annoyingly this means you can’t use it 1 handed.
