Makita HP457DWE10 Combi Drill, 18 V, Multi-Colour

Love it! Ok, this may not be the pro-level Makita kit, but for me as an average DIYer, I’ve found it really very good. It’s a pro brand, and I can see why. Until I got this my only drill for the last 20 years had been a trustworthy old Black & Decker (plug in) with its obvious limitations. So far the new Makita combi drill has been brilliant - I’ve set about lots of projects (using both drill and driver), from screw-fixing timber edging to completely shelving out the tool shed and it’s not let me down. Great selection of drivers, drill bits and accessories. Battery life could be slightly better maybe but as it comes with two, as long as you keep one charged, this isn’t a problem. Overall very impressive and good value for money. It’s made every job so much quicker, more professional and given me the confidence to tackle things I previously wouldn’t.

After wanting a Makita drill for years, I decided to buy this on a deal and I am so glad I did! After over 2 years it has been faultless. It’s drilled holes, screwed into metal and wood and even cleaned car mats with a brush attachment. It is very well made too. The accessories it comes with are really decent quality for DIY use around the house and there is loads in it. The battery life from the batteries is superb and charging time is pretty quick too. Getting 2 batteries in the kit is an added bonus. The only small negative is that the batteries that come with this kit aren’t compatible with a lot of the Makita range, only selected models. So it might be worth a check if you already have Makita power tools the batteries might not be compatible or vice versa. Overall though, a solid product for the money that covers all the bases for a home DIYer.

The first thing you need to be aware of here is that the battery does not fit every other makita product. Many users like the fact that they only need 2 batteries across all their cordless tools but I only want a drill so opted for this because it is cheaper with this battery style. You get so much for the money it's incredible. Drill bits, a spare battery, accessories and more. The case is heavy duty and you have everything you will need right there. Previously I had to carry a few different accessory cases with my old drill. No more! Works great, feels like a high quality piece of kit that will last for years. Boughf it to lay decking and renovate our house and it is standing upto the job. If you don't need the felxivity of batteries for all your cordless tools then go for this and save yourself a packet whilst getting hold of superior makita quality.

My husband bought me this for my birthday and I love it. We have had lots and lots of cheap tools over the years and they do not even compare to this one. I finally asked him to buy me the best and he did and I LOVE it!! It's excellent quality, the box and drill bits are all very handy and great quality and overall I think this will last a long time. As a woman, it isn't too heavy or too bulky in my hand and my husband has used it too and he loves it too. I'd recommend it for a long lasting, high quality household tool

Drill fine but found accessories (drill bits) etc very difficult to remove from carrying case and even more difficult to put back. Am I missing a trick ?

Great value. This drill is brilliant for the price. The battery is great for general use but not recommended for a day’s work. I use this drill for all the odd jobs around my home and rarely need to swap out the battery. My only negative would be about how one or two of the drill bits won’t go back into their slots once used. This is just a minor complaint about the case. Doesn’t affect the product as a whole.

This is a great drill but I wish I had bought the one with the better battery so I could use the battery with other tools, but I did not know they used different batteries. The drill is good though and I am happy with it.

I'm far from a DIY expert and had no idea about what to buy. Makita were recommended to me and I thought this was good value for money. Used the drill several times now and it works really well. The bits are fairly well fixed into the case (I need something solid to lever some of the pieces out), but I guess that's better than them being loose. The lack of manual is unfortunate, but this can easily be found online. Hopefully I'll keep using this for years and years.

Sehr gutes Allrounder Set für den Privatgebrauch, für das Geld erhält man ein wirklich gut verarbeitetes Set, was alles nötige für reguläre Heimwerkerarbeiten enthält. Kann ich bedingungslos weiterempfehlen! Es kommt übrigens mit einem deutschen Stecker.

L'appareil en lui-même est d'excellente qualité, c'est un plaisir de l'utiliser et on trouve facilement les pièces de rechange à prix abordable. Le frein est un plus indéniable, la machine s'arrête net, très pratique pour changer d'outil ou arrêter de visser quand la limite est atteinte. En revanche, la mallette fournie qui comporte une multitude de forets et d'outils est peu pratique, il est très difficile de retirer ou remettre les forets à leur place. C'est bien pour vendre mais compliqué à utiliser au quotidien. Ma solution : créer des entailles entre chaque logement de foret afin que la matière plastique se déforme quand on retire ou remet en place un outil (à l'aide d'un disque de tronçonnage DREMEL). Plus de problème ensuite. Les batteries disposent d'une bonne capacité et la perceuse offre de bonnes performances. Bon achat à recommander

Dit is alles wat je nodig hebt als doe-het-zelver! * Lichte maar krachtige accuboor. * Zeer complete boor- en bitset. * 2 accu's + lader (De accu's zijn niet groot, maar het is meer dan genoeg voor alle klussen in en om huis.) * Alles netjes in een overzichtelijke koffer. * Geweldige prijs.

El taladro tiene muy buena pinta, me gusta que traiga todos estos accesorios, no parecen de la máxima calidad pero va bien tener la maleta preparada para ellos, así los que mas se usen se pueden ir cambiando por otros de mayor calidad cuando se vayan rompiendo o desafilando y los que menos se usan ahí estarán para algún caso puntual. Muy práctico. La maleta además tiene un hueco para una tercera batería extra (no incluida), está hecha de plástico Polietileno, parece bastante resistente y bien construida (buenas bisagras y cierres), bastante sólida. Del taladro poco puedo decir, un taladro con las funciones de un taladro. El tacto en la mano es bueno, cómodo para trabajar, en general el aparato tiene un acabado muy bueno con algunas partes recubiertas de goma aunque no estaría de mas haber incluido el clip para el cinturón, que comprado por separado cuesta unos 10€... Aquí lo mas importante es que el taladro dure mucho tiempo y eso por ahora no lo puedo saber, lo que sí me ha "molestado" un poco es que en el modo destornillador, el embrague tenía mas fuerza, que a medida que he atornillado 10-20 tornillos ha ido perdiendo, con la rueda puesta en el 16 (el mas fuerte) puedo parar el taladro con la mano (aunque hay que hacer fuerza eso sí). La cosa es que no se si será algo normal o es un problema del taladro. En cualquier caso creo que no será un problema (siempre y cuando no se ablande mas) ya que la fuerza que da es suficiente para prácticamente cualquier tornillo, y si se necesita mas, se le puede meter la tracción directa. Por cierto, se le pueden meter brocas de hasta 13 mm, que es una diferencia importante con la mayoría de taladros no profesionales, que suele ser de 10mm.
