Addis 515465 2.5L Kitchen Compost Caddy, White/Green

After years of having the grey bin outside because it stinks and it is ugly as hell I decided to purchase a smaller bin I can keep inside. Stylish and sturdy,, you can tell the people who designed this thought about this being practical, easy to clean and easy to decanter. The grey bin provided by the council was too big for a two person household and the seal on the grey bin was horrid meaning flies could get inside the bin. This bin however has a good seal and has a inner plastic bin meaning you just pop it out to clean. This now sits on the side in the kitchen without it looking horrid and it is within easy reach for when I am cooking. If you find the council bin is horrid, too big and attracts insects then grab this little bin. Very happy with this purchase.

I love this caddy and use it all the time. It's not too big so hardly takes up any room in the kitchen. The fact that its smaller means once it's full I have to empty it into my compost bin and so it's never smelly because the bits in there are not inside for very long. Its really easy to take the lid off, to remove the inside container to empty. It's also really easy to wash, dry and keep clean. I like this better than my old crock pot which needed a filter because of smells.

Great caddy, looks good and tidy on the side and like the fact the inside green insert can be cleaned in the dishwasher if needed! It’s got rubber grips on bottom too so it prevents the caddy from slipping or getting knocked over. The only down side is the green insert is somewhat difficult to remove and when full a bit harder. The more we use it the easier it is becoming , the plastic is loosening up a bit. Great for the kitchen side and easy to clean! *update - it can get a little sweaty inside and I noticed some small flies can get in. This isn’t a big issue but assuming summer may be worse , this just ensures you clean regularly which I can accept.

The council gives us big brown square caddies for food waste but it was too big for my worktop and I didn't like it on the floor. When I was looking for a replacement I picked this one because the Addis name is a trusted one in kitchenware. It appeared to me to be the right size. Some of the caddies seemed very small. We drink a lot of tea and coffee (grounds) in this house and they quickly fill the small tin I had for them. This caddy is big enough to hold the day's worth of tea/coffee and veg peelings. The council supply biodegradable bags to line the caddy and they fit in this well. When the caddy arrived I was happy with the look of it. It is a very sleek white plastic with a moss green liner which shows as a green stripe when the caddy is closed. It is a perfect size to sit beside my kettle and it easy to use with a lip that is big enough to nudge open and dispose of waste. The bio bags to leak a little as the contents are so wet but it is all well contained in the caddy. I can either carry the whole caddy out to the bin or remove the green liner and take that out. The green liner is easy rinsed and washed with the dishes. It is a smooth shiny plastic that washes very easily. The caddy normally just takes a wipe with a wet cloth to clean. The only small issue is the lid has a lip over the hinge which holds the green liner in. The lid needs to be opened wide to remove the liner unfortunately my husband failed to realise this and cracked one of the lid hinges forcing it. The caddy still works fine and looks great. All in all I am happy with my purchase as it does exactly what I wanted it to.

I've had this kitchen caddy for some months now and love it. The green and white combo matches my kitchen and it is easy to clean. It sits on the work surface close to the sink and is in use on a daily basis showing no sign of wear or staining although I do use a food waste liner. It is a solid little caddy and the lid still fits perfectly. The only comment I would make is ensure it is large enough for your needs. We are just two and have a composter to take all our peelings etc. so it is the perfect size for us.

This is a nice thing to have in your kitchen, it's quite small so you're forced into emptying it regularly which means you don't end up with something that smells bad. The lid isn't sealed, but does close very closely so even if something does start to pong a bit you won't smell it. It's a little difficult to get the inner container out of the white bit, you have to kind of pinch it from the back, which isn't easy to do with one hand. Once you've emptied it the interior is perfectly smooth so it's trivial to rinse under the sink and sponge off.

I wanted a small food waste caddy that didn't need a liner, was easy to remove, empty and wash. You're meant to take the handle off to remove the bucket which is a pain and not easy, but it's possible to do so without. It has non slip feet which means you can't slide it, you have to lift it to move it. I keep mine on the kitchen counter beneath a low, wall mounted boiler so have to move it forward to open it. It would be more convenient if I could slide it, but this isn't a criticism, it's a great product, sturdy, well made, right size, seals well, looks good.

This looks great in my kitchen (I have the matching dish drainer and bowl). It’s very sturdy and the 3l food bags fit perfectly. I have taken one star off as it can be a bit fiddly to remove the inner bin sometimes but overall, a very good purchase.

Just arrived today and I haven't used it yet. Will update after use. I was disappointed to see that the lid is a darker color than the bin. It actually arrived early and was packaged very well. It also looks very functional, and appears that it will be easy to empty and clean.

Es un pequeño contenedor muy estético, higiénico y práctico para tenerlo en la encimera de la cocina donde ir depositando los restos de frutas, vegetales, etc. para después llevarlo a la compostera del jardín.

Für die Arbeitsfläche in der Küche habe ich nach einem Mülleimer für den Bio-Müll gesucht, der einen vernünftigen Deckel hat, damit im Sommer nicht die Insekten angezogen werden. Dieser Deckel sollte aber auch offen stehen können, sodass ich beim Kartoffelschälen alles direkt hineinfallen lassen kann. Dafür ist dieser Eimer perfekt. er besteht aus einem Innen- und einem Außenbehälter. Der Innenbehälter ist grün und kann herausgenommen und leicht gereinigt werden. Die Größe finde ich perfekt, sodass sich weder zu viel ansammelt noch zu wenig Platz für einen Tag ist. Ich wurde schon gefragt, wo ich den hübschen Eimer her habe - es ist wirklich ein Schmuckstück - und sehr funktionell - klare Kaufempfehlung

Hola la berda meagustado mucho para reciclar los alimentos orgánicos de cada día en la cocina queda muy bien no ocupa espacio y es muy bonito y practico, lo recomiendo gracias buena compra.
