Amazon Basics Cafe Stripe Dinnerware Set with 16-Pieces - Black

I was looking for a replacement dinnerware set as my farmhouse set was bought a good decade ago and was looking rather tatty, so it was time for it to go. After looking at many sets on here, from the pricier to the cheaper I was swayed by both the cafe-stripe design of this set, plus the many favourable reviews. The price I wasn’t too bothered about, but when I noticed the price I was rather delighted. I ordered happily having already experienced the quality of the Amazon Basics brand and awaited my orders arrival. My dinnerware set arrived extremely well packaged and there was not one casualty. Once all unpacked and inspected I washed out one of the cups and made a cup of tea. I know it may sound a bit daft but I find tea either tastes great in a cup or it doesn’t. To me, a lot seems dependant on the cup! I have special cups I use for tea and others for coffee. I like these cups. The pristine whiteness of the inner allows me to brew to the required colour and they are extremely comfortable to hold and not too heavy, nor too light. The plates are perfect for everyday dinners and the dip allows for the use of gravy when required. My first use of these plates was with a roast dinner, with Yorkshire puddings and masses of roasties, mash and gravy. I managed to get my rather large portions on these plates no problem. They wash easily and stack well in the drainer too. I haven’t used the side plates as yet but they are stacked happily in my cupboard ready for their first use. The cereal bowls were tested out with a chocolate Cheerios experience with lashings of ice cold milk. Nice bowls! Hold a lot and nice high sides so you can pile plenty in. I like the red/white cafe stripe design and overall this set is remarkable value for money and is ideal for established families, people moving into a new home and newlyweds etc. I really like the Amazon Basics brand. This is a pretty good quality set at the price and includes all the vital bits if you want a matching set of good looking crockery for entertaining. So far we have now bought 2 sets so as to have place settings for up to 8 people. We started off with a plain white set 12 Piece Basic Dinner Set in White which was OK but did not seem quite special enough and although it was good the Amazon Basics Cafe stripe one looks even better and the grey strip matches our new kitchen and will go with most things. You can also select Black or red strip versions. Everything seems to me to be a pretty good size and yes they do look pretty good.

This 16 piece set is a good affordable product. I can't see them lasting for 30 years like some of your mum and dads, but, if money is tight and you need to replace or setting up home for the first time or moving into a new flat and need all kinds without being able to afford too much these are perfect. The pattern is simple and clean as you probably expect You've got 16 pieces- that's 4 mugs, 4 large plates, 4 side plates and 4 good sized cereal bowls Combine this with the cutlery set that was I want to say £8.97 - as I did - and on a budget you really can't go wrong. I am always worried when I order things like this that something, at least one maybe two items will get smashed in transit. I am happy to report that not only did this not happen, but the packaging was brilliant. They came in a large square box which had added layers of card protecting each and every item and it was very tight in the pack so very good protection from jolts and bumps Bottom Line: If money is an issue, get these. More than do the job in the the short to midterm anyway

The item looks just like picture except the color. It is slightly gray than white. Otherwise it is dishwasher and microwave safe and is of good quality at this price.

Me ha gustado mucho la vajilla y la calidad. La recomendaría. Es para cuatro personas pero incluye cuatro tazas de un tamaño majo, ni grandes ni pequeñas, el tamaño perfecto. Los platos hondos son estilo tazón y son muy prácticos porque sirven tanto para comer un primer plato como para poner cosas para picoteo. En general estoy contenta ya que la relación calidad precio es buena. Viene muy bien embalada. Y en cuanto a una reseña que he visto en inglés de una persona que se ha quejado porque no tiene la raya de una de las tazas bien pintada en las mías está todo perfecto perfectísimo diría yo. Ninguna queja. Todo lo contrario, mis felicitaciones al fabricante.

I am amazed! This dinner set is worth every penny! We recently moved to a new city, ceramic dinner set was just so expensive at every store I went to. Even the Market 99 had a ceramic bowl for Rs 275. This is a must buy! All the essential for under 1000/- Very posh, elegant and so much better than plastic plates. Contents - 4 big plate, 4 small plates, 4 mugs, 4 cereal bowls. This is an unboxing review. I might update if it breaks sooner or doesn't last in the microwave. If it does, you won't see any further comments!
