Best shaving cream ever.....
As a follically challenged chap who's been shaving his head for the last 19 years, I've tried many different shaving products. The tinned gel/foam products are just too 'thin', so I've stuck with proper shaving creams which provide a rich lather and comfortable shave. Unfortunately, most of them leave me with my skin feeling dry and looking visibly wrinkly. For a while, I've been using the stuff from the a certain high street retailer whose name sounds a bit like a vehicle panel repairer. It was decent enough stuff, but then they closed my local store.... I happened across this product while looking for some stuff for my good lady and decided to give it a try. On the face of it, the price might seem a little steep, however it offers great value for money. The cream is very thick, so only a little is needed. It lathers superbly and provides copious quantities of creamy foam. You really need a decent shaving brush to do it justice though. The shave it gives is very close and comfortable, without a hint of dryness or irritation afterwards, even after having to use a straight razor when I've left it too long between shaves for a twin blade. The scent is very pleasant with a hint of coconut, which you might think could be a little girly, but it's actually surprisingly masculine! There's no doubt your Significant Other will love both the fragrance and smooth shave it gives. You may have to hide the tub from her though, as I have a feeling she might see it as a good option for her legs.....

Is it any better than other shaving creams?
When I first acquired a pot of The Gentleman's Face Care Clubs Shaving Cream I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from it; after all there are so many options these days for the man that requires that smooth look and feel. They say that first impressions count; which in my case got the first thumbs up with a rather nice looking pot that the cream came in. A sort of clean manly looking pot that you would expect to see in an upmarket gents barbers. Upon opening the pot I found a bright white cream, rather solid, not runny and neither hard which gave off a rather faint but pleasant fragrance. Time to check it out I thought! Using my new shaving brush (also acquired from The Gentleman's Face Care Club) I ran it under the warm water as you do before dipping it into my new cream and swishing it into the pot lid that I had just taken off the shaving cream. Quite useful I thought as I had forgotten my shaving cup. After doing that a couple of times and adding a little more warm water to my shaving brush as I went along found no problem in lathering up the cream at all. As I applied it to my face I found that it covered really well; and better in fact than many creams that I have used previously and that had cost substantially more. As I reached for my razor with its newly fitted blade and swilled it under the warm tap I started to have what I noticed to be one of the closest shaves that I had had in an awful long time. Gliding from one part of my face to another like an Olympic Ice Skater (gold medal winner at that) I soon finished my chore (not cuts today). I dabbed my towel onto my face, splashed a little aftershave over it and was ready for what the day had in store for me. The question was - Is it any better than other shaving creams? The answer is almost certainly YES! Is it worth the money? YES! (not a bad price to be honest). At the time of writing this review I have used the cream to shave at least a dozen times and have only grown to like it even more than when I used it for the first time! To me it sounds a good club to join "The Gentleman's Face Care Club!" gets a BIG YES!

Great, affordable entry level shaving cream for the budding gentleman.
This is my first foray into using a proper shaving cream and I'm not disappointed! There appears to be more than enough to last a long while, especially for someone like myself who only needs to shave once every few days. Each shave only requires a very small amount of the cream if you use a shaving brush. Dabbing the brush into the cream firmly gives me enough lather to do 2 or 3 passes. I haven't tried using the product without a brush so I can't comment on how well it lathers using fingers. I can't quite put my finger on the scent but I personally find it very pleasant; the best way I can describe it is "creamy", almost like vanilla in a way. I would still recommend that you use some form of moisturiser after shaving using this, although I get the impression that this is much better for my skin than run-of-the-mill shaving products. My only criticism of this product is that the lather seems a little "thin", in the sense that it's nowhere near as dense as shaving foam for example. However, I have no idea whether or not this is how it should be, or whether there's something wrong in my technique for lathering. For those diving into shaving with proper cream for the first time like I did, here is my recommended routine. First, fill a (bog standard) cup with hot water and leave the brush in there for 10 minutes or so while you do something else (e.g. shower). Next take the brush out and give it a shake to get rid of most of the water, and empty out the cup (leaving a few drops of water to help with the lathering). Dab the brush into the shaving cream just hard enough to cover the tips of the brush. Now you can use the cup to work it into a lather to apply to your face, just run the brush in circles into the base of the cup. Splash your face with warm water then apply the cream by moving the brush in circles across your skin. All in all I like this product, not only is it effective and plentiful, but it smells nice and makes you feel like a gentleman and a scholar. If you're anything like me then I would buy a safety razor as well and turn shaving into a hobby! If you liked this review then I would much appreciate a thumbs up!
