Abu Garcia GT602 30lb 6ft Boat Rod - Black

This is the second boat rod I have bought and that was because I was pleasantly surprised at how well it performed considering the low cost.My son used the first one to wreck fish and,although the largest fish caught to date was a four pound dogfish,it was certainly put under strain when my son foulhooked a WW2, 4,500 tons shipwreck!He had a thirty pounds' breaking strain line and the rod coped with some quite hard work.It is a well finished rod and the 6ft length is perfect for the Warrior 165 boat we use. Compared to another manufacturer's 30lb rod I bought on Amazon that failed (snapped,in fact,first time it caught the bottom - and with only a twenty pounds' line on the reel!),this Abu-Garcia rod performed flawlessly. I would certainly recommend this rod.

A cracking budget boat rod, the rod is well put together and for £20 is a real bargain. My only complaint is that on the first trip on the boat with it I failed to catch any fish( but that may not be the rod's fault).

I took the fishing rod out of the packaging, which was also damaged. I put it on. And it fell apart in my hands. Thank you that it didn't happen on a boat 30 miles from shore.

When you're out on the boat beginners sometimes struggle with a 8-9ft+ rod in a limited space. Just swinging a fish onboard can be a bit of an ordeal. I got this rod for my wife who only comes out with me a couple of times a year and it's been perfect. Sure it may take some of the fun out of fighting lighter fish but it's also no fun struggling badly with a longer rod. Being rated at 30lb there's very little you're likely to catch in the UK that this rod won't handle and we've pulled in plenty of double figure Pollack and specimen Ling with it.

Lo cierto es que me ha sorprendido gratamente. No nos engañemos es una cama fantástica para la lucha , muy cómoda y de buen agarre. Ideal para la pesca desde embarcación . No busques sensibilidad en este tipo de caña, pero te aseguro que es una gran varilla que no te decepcionará..
