Useful bit of kit for sketching

I bought this to be able to view gray scale of fabrics. I have found it quite useful but the card itself is not very sturdy. I took it to a workshop recently and already one of the edge pieces is beginning to get quite flimsy. Would be better if it was on a thicker card background in my opinion

MADE MY OWN. Bought one years ago for a low price, printed on card, very useful. Whilst this plastic version may be more durable, it's more expensive. I have a full set of Polychromos greys warm and cool so I made my own card in a few minutes 😊

Great item to understand better colour values when painting. A must for any student of art.

This is nothing more that a bit of printed card in a plastic sleeve so total cost to make maybe £0.15. It's far inferior to the one I lost which was made from sturdy clear plastic and the greyscale graduations made by half tone dots. The only advantage of this over the greyscale on a colour wheel is that it's bigger and a bit easier to use. I bought this only because I can't find the plastic one anywhere.

This is a great artist tool for getting that shade of grey just right

I like the dimensions of the holes, it's enough to gauge my value. It's a tad flimsy, but I keep it tucked in my sketchbook to prevent bending.
