A have always looked at DeWalt screw drivers with envious glances. A used to jump at the chance to use other people's whenever I could. Having used lots of other brands over the years, from cheap B and Q own brands which have burnt out after heavy use through to higher end branded version which stopped working after a few years, but deep down I have always dreamt of holding my very own DeWalt driver.When my last crappy screw driver finally failed I decided that I would invest in my very own DeWalt. When it finally arrived tightly wrapped in several layers of black packaging wrap with an unmissable case handle indentation. I am not ashamed to admit that I did take my time cutting the case out of the packaging. The case is a really high quality and everything fits perfectly together. The DeWalt driver itself is fantastic. Every part feels like quality. The two batteries are great and that resounding clunk when you slam the battery into the driver feels great.The little touches on the driver really do set the DeWalt apart from other tools, from the handy well positioned light to the hammer setting you can see why DeWalt are the market leaders.Overall I feel that by buying this DeWalt driver I have finally succeeded in life. I have made it, I own a DeWalt! I will probably keep it next to the front door so that whenever people come over they know that I am the sort of person that owns a DeWalt! Boom that just happened.

The drill is slightly smaller than other 18v but that is an advantage in tight spaces. The power is there and very easily controlled. The battery time was quick to charge up and still running.Hammer action: okay in aircrew such as Celcon or Thermalite but would not want to drill many holes in brick or dense concrete and that was using a new drill bit.The light is a very good feature. Led and angled to work area. Ideal for cupboard and loft work. Having used B&D for 10years plus and it is still going - Dewalt I believe owns B&D so expect many years of use. Treated with respect and using Dwalt pneumatic mains power drill for holes in dense concrete. The 18v is fine for small hole drilling and screwing. Compared with a Makita of a similar price the Dwalt scores very well.

First class drill. Best cordless I’ve used. Excellent power and easy to use as a screwdriver. Battery lasts for ages and having the spare is just icing on the cake.

This is a very good drill. I was sceptical because it is so small and very light I worried it would pack no punch after my Bosch. I'm happy to say I was wrong and it packs a good punch! Easy to use, light in weight and good control and access as its so small.Not so good is the battery slap, you slam it into the housing and its not the tightest of grip hence the slap. Annoyingly the helpful light stays on for 20 seconds after trigger is realised, why? It just drains the battery. The box is Ok but little or no room for extras such as bits etc.

Sturdy and well designed. First use as a try out was to wirebrush all the surface rust off these vintage garden shears. It did the whole job on a single charge with almost continuous running ( I didn't time it sorry!) The box is sturdy with room for additional small items. You can even get the charger cable and plug back in easily after first use (Other tool manufacturers take note)

Great tool, does every job you need it to do, from light duty to heavier workloads. The drill is also well balanced, not to heavy and a doddle to use. Will struggle to get a better drill anywhere for the same price. I looked about for a while before purchasing and have used a lot of different brands and this is the best for your money.

Works but has a 'kick' when starting - would have returned for refund but was travelling so did not get to open package until out of time

Just got this drill and the quality of it is top noch.Im very surprised to see that when i read the manufacturer's manual that the batteries have Bluetooth connectivity so they can be activated remotely via the my Dewalt app available on Google play store and apple store, it gives a huge amount of battery info eg temperature, charge status and will even deactivate your batteries if they go out of range of the device you have the app on. Meaning if the get stolen they will be useless to the thieves.
