fantastic for home office use
fantastic for home office use. low price, very small, installation easy (though i didn't see anywhere that you had to remove all the blue ribbons), great print quality (office use, not tried photos) and very fast. scanner seems good too. very easy to setup and use. has compatible inks so you won't get ripped off with inks, though not sure if that's such a good idea.

I brilliant printer
Fast delivery, high-quality multiway printer! This Deskjet all-in-one printer isn't my first HP product, I've got already a smaller one from the Deskjet 3700 all-in-one series but this one is more efficient and close to my necessities while being compact and light as my previous one! It does everything: it prints, copies and scans exactly as an office scan. Everything is done by one product that's easy to use and saves space. I love it but I have one note: it comes without the USB cable which is necessary (it isn't a wifi printer as the 37000) and it's a bit slow but at scanning and printing (but faster than a 3700). I recommend it for students. I give just 4 stars for the missing USB

Great printer for Linux (Ubuntu)
My Requirements - runs native under linux, reasonable cheap consumbles. This printer met both my requirements and its setup was plug-and-play on Ubuntu. I was printing and scanning as soon as the printer was plugged in, no difficult calibration or adjustments were required. The price for such a great printer is very competitive - as I've just bought I cant say how good it is on ink consumption, and the tri-colour cartridge is a little concerning, but they are easily/cheaply available on-line, so have no real doubts that this will be a great work-horse printer for my home and academic usage.

Not THAT easy to set up
Over the years I've had to assemble LOTS of IT equipment (I work in IT as a homeworker) and my desk is piled with a mix of work dock/laptop and home equipment (pc, scanner etc.). I usually find hardware/software easy to set up - but this one I faffed with for almost an hour. It didn't help that, to save precious desk real estate, I have my printer under the desk on a stand, seeing as it's not frequently used. This meant each time it flashed or failed to do something I had to crawl under the desk - which did nothing for my rising irritation. The main issue was that I couldn't for the life of me find the sliding paper restraint that needed to be pushed against the paper from the left. Eventually realised it was pushed tight on the far right hand side and needed sliding back. Also found the instructions really hard to follow (usual thing - half a dozen pictures that are slightly vague in places). Eventually dropped the full user guide file onto my desktop. One problem was my own fault - in removing my old printer I'd taken out the USB cable and then, when it came to putting in the new USB cable, I couldn't remember which Port number is which (and I have 9 ports). So, if you have multiple ports, make sure you clock which one you are using before you pull the plug out. I hadn't fallen for the lack of a cable - that and 2 spare cartridges had come the day before (I spent a good 30 seconds wondering where to stick the cartridges - the receptacles were pushed on the far left). But I was needing to print something in a rush (to get it in the post) and so faffing around calibrating the scan function (which I have no intention of using) took up another 5 minutes (I'm sounding a real grouch here - just warning others). This one goes into sleep mode after 5 mins and switches off after 2 hours. Which is fine but it doesn't turn itself back ON if you try to print, which my last printer did. Meaning when I want to use it - it's going to be back under the desk to turn it on and flip out the paper feeder. On the other hand....it's reasonably priced (for multiple functions) although it remains to be seen how long the cartridges last / how much it costs to run. I had been warned that the ones inside to get you working don't last very long and so had 2 delivered immediately. I may come back and make it a 5 star if it grows on me (and once I've forgotten how fiddly the set up was). Update 15/5/17 - I've returned and downed this to a 3*. I really do hate this printer with a passion. First of all I'd bought spare cartridges (back in 2016) that were under the printer as "you might also like to buy this". I didn't need to use them until a couple of weeks ago - when I found that they were refurbished and the printer would have nothing to do with them. I had to order new HP cartridges and have just put in the black. Soon as I shut the case a test page printed out. I then pressed print on my document and the power light starts flashing and nothing will come out. Read the manual - nothing of any use in there. Cancelled it in print queue. Try turning it off and on again - another test page prints out. Try my document again, nothing. Repeated process again - just got another test page (that's 3 of them now - no wonder I'm running out of ink). Getting crabby by now and spend 10 mins reading the PDF manual and, while I'm ignoring the printer, it suddenly decides to print out my document. What the....???? Some days I would happily chuck it out the window.

Great little printer
For £19 this printer is brilliant. I was surprised as I expected it to be bigger, so it fits nicely on my desk. It scans and prints really easy and for £19 I won't mind if it lasts 2 years. Cartridges are extremely cheap and easy to change. As for noise it's not too bad. It's not mute exactly but guys for the price I'd gladly buy this again.

I feel exhausted
The printer actually works OK now but only gets one start because I feel shattered by it. The first thing that annoyed me was that it does not come with a cable. The cable is only £2 from another supplier but that is not the point - if it does not work without the cable why is this not included? I needed a printer quickly and it arrived the very next day - unfortunately the printer cable did not arrive for a week so was unable to even test the printer until then. In my naivety I was expecting to run the disk, plug the printer in and away.....no such luck. The printer would only print the test page and nothing else. The documents did not even appear in the print queue....the anger. When I googled this problem it appears that many tortured souls have found themselves in the same situation. One of them said that he had been trying to resolve this problem 'for months'. After and age trying to follow the responses to same query on HP web site I phoned the 'know how' helpline as I am using a new lap to from PC world. The guy accessed the computer remotely online, made changes to the firewall and got the printer working. It may be an easy task for IT experts but I was unable to resolve this and I see from online forums that I am not alone!! For people like me who are not good with IT troubleshooting I would recommend buying one from PC world then at least you can you the 'know how' service if you have installation problems.

Good all Round Printer
Great printer, it’s very quick to start up and quick at printing also there is a very neat system when aligning the heads or doing maintenance instead of printing loads of pages to check and realign you just print one and then scan the result and it does it automatically without the need to print loads of pages wasting ink. Good one touch button for copying and really clear output on scanning, The price for Black ink and Tri-Colour is very reasonable so there’s no need to buy cheap compatible cartridges or refills that can seriously damage your printer. All in all a good buy and pleased so far.

Good printer, only one downside
Good value, hasn't let me down. Always prints well. No connection issues which is a dream. The only downside I can think of is it sometimes doesn't want to turn off when you push the off button. Simple fix is just to hold the off button for 10 seconds or so. Or pull out the power cable. Not a big deal but worth mentioning. Other than that, I've used it to print writing, photos, scan things. Works well
